Position Summary :
The NPD&R&D leads the end-to-end development of innovative culinary products, translating food trends and Customer & consumer insights into commercially viable offerings. This role bridges culinary creativity with technical execution, ensuring new products meet quality, cost, and operational standards for the food service or retail market.
Key Responsibilities :
Product Innovation & Culinary Development :
- Lead ideation and development of new recipes, ready-to-eat meals, sauces, ready to cook gravies etc.
- Collaborate with chefs, and marketing to create trend-forward, scalable products.
- Conduct kitchen trials, sensory evaluations, and recipe standardization.
Project & Process Management :
- Oversee the NPD lifecycle from concept to commercialization.
- Manage timelines, budgets, and cross-functional coordination with procurement, QA, and production.
- Maintain detailed documentation of formulations, trials, and approvals.
Market & Consumer Insight :
- Analyse market trends, competitor products, and customer feedback to identify innovation opportunities.
- Participate in food expos, culinary workshops, and benchmarking exercises.
Compliance & Quality Assurance :
- Ensure all new products comply with food safety regulations (FSSAI, HACCP, etc.).
- Work with regulatory teams to finalize labelling, nutritional data, and ingredient declarations.
Vendor & Ingredient Sourcing :
- Identify and evaluate new ingredients, suppliers, and co-manufacturers.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure cost-effective sourcing aligned with product goals.
