Job title : Process Head

Objective of Job:
- To lead, standardize, and continuously improve fertilizer manufacturing processes across all plants by ensuring optimal process efficiency, consistent product quality, regulatory compliance, and cost effective operations.
- The role aims to drive data-based decision-making, process audits, technology upgradation, and CAPEX evaluation to enhance plant performance, sustainability, and long-term organizational growth while ensuring adherence to Fertilizer Control Order (FCO), safety, and environmental norms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee systematic collection, validation, and consolidation of technical and operational process data from all manufacturing plants.
- Establish standard data reporting formats, KPIs, and benchmarks to monitor plant performance, efficiency, yield, energy consumption, and process stability.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with plant teams to ensure data accuracy, timely submission, and corrective action tracking.
- Analyse compiled data to identify process deviations, improvement opportunities, cost optimization measures, and productivity enhancements.
- Present consolidated process performance reports and insights to senior management with actionable recommendations.
Periodic Plant Audits & Process Verification:
- Plan and conduct periodic technical and process audits across plants to verify adherence to standard operating procedures, design parameters, safety norms, and quality standards.
- Evaluate plant operations for process efficiency, equipment utilization, bottleneck identification, and loss reduction.
- Review compliance with statutory, environmental, and internal process guidelines.
- Document audit findings, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and monitor implementation status in coordination with plant leadership.
CAPEX Review & Technical Evaluation:
- Review and technically evaluate CAPEX proposals related to process improvement, capacity expansion, technology upgradation, debottlenecking, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Assess technical feasibility, ROI, lifecycle cost, energy efficiency, safety impact, and alignment with long-term business strategy.
- Provide expert inputs during project planning, vendor selection, and approval stages.
- Support management in prioritizing CAPEX investments based on operational criticality and strategic value.
Vendor Inspection & Technical Coordination:
- Conduct vendor visits for inspection, technical assessment, and validation of equipment, machinery, raw materials, and process-related services.
- Ensure vendor compliance with approved technical specifications, quality standards, and delivery commitments.
- Collaborate with procurement, projects, and quality teams for vendor development, technical negotiations, and issue resolution.
- Support troubleshooting and performance improvement of supplied equipment or services during installation and commissioning, as required.
Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through process optimization, standardization, automation, and adoption of best industry practices.
- Mentor and guide plant process teams to enhance technical capability, problem-solving skills, and process ownership.
- Act as a technical authority for process-related decision-making across the organization.
Educational Qualification:
B.E / B. Tech Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: 20 - 25 years of experience in manufacturing industry (Fertilizer, Chemical)
