Description :
We are looking for an experienced Cluster Manager - Logistics (FTL) to lead and manage end-to-end Full Truckload (FTL) operations across multiple locations within the assigned cluster. The role requires strong operational leadership, cost and performance ownership, customer management, and compliance oversight. The ideal candidate will bring deep FTL expertise, people leadership capability, and a data-driven approach to scale operations while maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Cluster Operations Management :
- Own and oversee end-to-end FTL operations across multiple hubs/locations within the cluster
- Ensure timely pickup, transit, and delivery while meeting SLA and customer commitments
- Monitor fleet utilization, route efficiency, and driver productivity across the cluster
- Standardize operational processes and SOP adherence across all locations
Team Leadership & Capability Building :
- Lead and manage Operations Managers, dispatch teams, fleet supervisors, and support staff
- Drive performance culture through goal setting, reviews, and continuous feedback
- Ensure regular training, coaching, and development of operational teams
- Build succession plans and strengthen leadership bench at site level
Cost Optimization & Financial Control :
- Own cluster-level P&L performance, including cost per trip, cost per km, and productivity metrics
- Identify and execute cost optimization initiatives without compromising service quality
- Negotiate rates with transporters, vendors, and service providers at cluster level
- Ensure effective budget planning, tracking, and variance control
Customer & Stakeholder Management :
- Act as senior escalation point for key customers within the cluster
- Build long-term client relationships by understanding business needs and delivering reliable FTL solutions
- Collaborate closely with sales, planning, and central teams to support business growth
Performance Monitoring & Reporting :
- Define and track key KPIs such as OTIF, transit time, vehicle utilization, cost metrics, and safety indicators
- Review site-wise and cluster-level performance dashboards
- Present insights, risks, and improvement plans to senior management
Process Improvement & Scalability :
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability
- Lead implementation of technology solutions such as TMS, GPS tracking, fleet analytics, and automation tools
- Ensure standardization and best practice sharing across locations
Compliance, Safety & Governance :
- Ensure adherence to statutory, regulatory, and company compliance requirements
- Drive safety culture across the cluster through audits, training, and preventive actions
- Minimize incidents, losses, and operational risks through strong governance controls
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field
- 8-10 years of experience in logistics or transportation, with strong exposure to FTL operations
- Proven experience managing multi-location or cluster-level operations
- Strong understanding of logistics systems, TMS, fleet management tools, and analytics
