Quantitative Equity Research Analyst Location: Bangalore - EGL Role Overview: We are seeking a Quantitative Analyst to join our Investment Research team in Bangalore. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Head of Systematic Equity Strategies (SES) Research, a key part of the broader Quantitative Research and Investments (QRI) Division. This role focuses on the development and implementation of systematic active and tax-managed equity strategies with approximately $20B in assets under management, spanning multiple equity products and customized separately managed accounts for institutional and intermediary investors. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain quantitative stock selection models globally, improving performance through empirical analysis, idea generation, and back-testing - Investigate structured and novel data sources to generate alpha - Lead the full lifecycle of research projects, including idea generation, design, back-testing, portfolio simulations, and implementation - Enhance portfolio construction and optimization through collaboration with team members - Implement equity models, transaction cost modeling, risk mitigation strategies, and new risk models - Collaborate with technology and trading teams to improve infrastructure and platforms - Drive strategic priorities in partnership with Senior Leaders in Asset Management Required Skills & Experience: - B.Tech or Post-graduate degree in Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields from a top-tier institute - CFA, FRM, or CQF qualifications are a plus - Minimum of 5 years' experience in quantitative research, preferably in asset management, investment banking, or academic research - Expertise in statistics, probability, mathematics, and hands-on programming, with a strong passion for financial markets - Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, MATLAB, SQL, VBA, Tableau) and data science/visualization tools - Experience with multi-factor models, quant equity portfolio construction, TCA, market impact modeling, and equity microstructure - Familiarity with financial and economic databases (e.g., Compustat, Worldscope, IBES) and tools like FactSet, Bloomberg, Axioma, and Barra - Strong analytical thinking, economic intuition, and excellent communication skills About the Team: The Analytics, Research & Data (ARD) team is a consulting and insights group that empowers business leaders to make informed decisions.
