- Strategy / Quality Plan: Develop and implement strategy for Quality function to ensure it meets the business requirements as well as customer deliverables. Integrate with various functions to formulate New Product Introduction Gate wise quality deliverables through Quality Risk Assessment sign off, tracker & objective targets. Reviewing and ensuring compliance to validation as per standards (in-house/ supplier end/customer) and set objectives at respective sales gates while bidding process.

- Systems & Processes: Implement and monitor Quality Management System including deviation management, CAPA, change control, risk assessment, APQR, handling of market complaints to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines. Lead Management Review of Quality Management systems with senior management.

- Ensure the development of departmental SOPs (writing, revising and approving), ensuring regulatory compliance in conjunction with being fit for purpose operationally and commercially. Also ensure that the SOPs are harmonized across the plant.

- Regulatory Audits: Lead important and significant regulatory and customer audit. Guide teams to handle query during the audits, response after the audit and corrective & preventive actions, if any.

- Performance Management: Maintain and improve departmental operational performance (KPIs) to meet the requirements of regulatory authorities, company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and external and internal customers, with respect to quality, service, lead time and cost.

- Integration: Integrate with all functions plants to ensure compliance to process/start up verification, stage-wise process data, stage-wise product data, Control plan, SOP, OPLs, receiving inspection enablers thus ensuring results.

- Internal Audits: Ensure companywide internal-audit (self-inspection) program is implemented, reports submitted for management action and observations redressed (CAPA) in timely manner. Also, ensure that the supplier and subcontractor audits are performed and reported as per schedule.

- Laboratory Management: Provide guidance to QC Laboratory about the work standards and norms for accuracy and efficiency of sample analysis, method transfers validations.

- Qualification and Validation: Ensure all qualification and validation activities, including validation strategy and approval of protocols and reports.

- Product Release: Coordinate with Manufacturing / Production Engineering/ Plant Quality for establishing process controls, Quality systems, and critical touch points. Review performance of new products for 6 months since launch. Ensure Flawless Launch and Early Care of new product.

- Provide guidance on continuous employee education to build functional capability in the company. Create awareness of new regulations that impacts the business and communicate changes to the concerned.

- People Management: Define and align KPIs of Quality team. Monitor progress with the team every month. Identify gaps or opportunities for improvement & talent development. Provide periodic feedback, guidance and coaching to the team to achieve its KPIs.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor Degree in Metallurgy Engineering or Masters in Mechanical/ Production/ Metallurgy with 15-20 years of experience in Mechanical industry in Quality Management and Manufacturing Operations.

- Knowledge or certification in Non-destructive testing methods preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

- QMS/ISO 9001 /API Q1 in depth understanding and Knowledge (lead Auditor Certified) preferred

- Vendor assessment

- Metallurgy- Open die Forging and Heat treatment of Alloy Steel ,Stainless steel

- Lab testing and certification.

- Expert in PPAP, PFD, FMEA and Control plan

- QC tools and CAPA /critical analysis of process and product

- Internal /external audits of QMS and Product Knowledge and usage of Quality inspection tools

- Knowledge of SPC/SQC/Cpk working

- Knowledge of SAP QM module and ISO 14000 preferred.
