Quality Control Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Quality Control Manager to lead the Quality Control function for a prominent Food Processing company in Kochi, Kerala.

This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in food quality management, a strong understanding of international quality standards, and a proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Specification Management: Manage and maintain comprehensive specifications for Raw Materials (RM), Semi-Finished Goods (SFG), and Finished Goods (FG) to ensure product quality and consistency.

- Root Cause Analysis & CAPA: Ensure effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for all quality deviations and implement robust Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) wherever required.

- Quality Management Systems Oversight: Oversee and maintain the integrity of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including FSSC, BRC, and other relevant certifications, with a strong focus on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and laboratory operations.

- Accreditation Leadership: Lead the organization's efforts towards achieving and maintaining ISO 17025 and NABL accreditation for laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.

- First Time Right (FTR) Performance: Drive and ensure optimal First Time Right (FTR) performance across all production processes, minimizing rejections and rework.

- 5S Implementation: Champion and maintain high standards of 5S practices within the laboratory and relevant production areas to ensure organization, cleanliness, and efficiency.

- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality control professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence.

- Audits & Compliance: Prepare for and actively participate in internal and external quality audits, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the QC function and collaborate with production and R&D teams to implement solutions.

Required Candidate Profile:

Education:

UG: B.Sc in Food Technology or Chemistry.

PG: MS/M.Sc (Science) in Food Technology or Chemistry.

- Experience: 12+ years of experience in leading the Quality Control function in food companies.

- Team Leadership: Proven experience in leading and managing teams of 10+ members.

- Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge and practical experience with quality control processes in the Food Processing Industry.

- Quality Standards: Strong understanding and hands-on experience with international quality and food safety management systems (e.g., FSSC 22000, BRC, ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP).

- Laboratory Management: Expertise in laboratory operations, testing methodologies, and analytical techniques relevant to food quality.

- Accreditation Experience: Direct experience with ISO 17025 and NABL accreditation processes is highly desirable.

- Problem Solving: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and Root Cause Analysis skills.

- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and external auditors.

Location: Willingness to work from Kochi, Kerala
