Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Senior Manager - Finance to lead our controllership function, overseeing end-to-end accounting operations across India and global subsidiaries. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly Ind AS, and hands-on experience in book closure, variance analysis, and ERP systems. The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record in financial control, compliance, and process automation within fast-paced environments such as startups or tech companies.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Controllership:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of Accounts Payable (AP) and General Ledger (GL) processes
- Conduct detailed monthly GL reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Handle monthly provisions, accruals, and adjustments as part of the closing process
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end book closure across all entities, including global subsidiaries
- Manage fixed assets accounting, depreciation, and capitalization in accordance with policies
Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and applicable statutory requirements
- Prepare monthly financial schedules and ensure reconciliations are completed and reviewed
- Maintain proper accounting records and support statutory and internal audits
Financial Reporting & MIS:
- Prepare and review monthly MIS in line with management and investor requirements
- Conduct variance analysis and highlight key deviations from budget/forecasts
- Reconcile MIS with accounting books and explain variances clearly and concisely
Process Improvement & Automation:
- Work on automating accounting and reporting processes, particularly within ERP environments (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Create and maintain SOPs for key accounting processes to ensure consistency and control
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and implement best practices in financial operations
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Chartered Accountant (First Attempt preferred)
- Experience: 5- 7 years of experience in a Controllership or core accounting role, including experience with India and global entities
- Strong knowledge of Ind AS, accounting standards, and compliance requirements
- Hands-on experience in working with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
- Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close, reporting, and financial controls
- Experience in fast-paced startup or tech environments with exposure to automation initiatives
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with a high level of ownership
