Role Summary:
We are looking for a Copy Strategist to lead creative strategy, guide messaging direction, and shape impactful communication across brand campaigns and performance-driven creatives.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with strong writing chops and the ability to lead a team.
You will define messaging frameworks, craft strategic narratives, and ensure all communication aligns with business goals, audience insights, and brand identity.
Key Responsibilities:
Creative Strategy:
- Develop end-to-end communication strategies for campaigns, digital ecosystems, and brand narratives.
- Define messaging frameworks, brand voice principles, and content architecture for ongoing and new clients.
- Translate business objectives, cultural insights, and audience motivations into actionable creative direction.
- Lead ideation and strategic thinking for pitches, new business opportunities, and brand-building initiatives.
- Work closely with planners and performance teams to interpret data and refine communication strategies.
- Ensure every campaign is aligned to strategic outcomesawareness, engagement, consideration, or conversion.
- Build strategic POVs and content approaches tailored to platform behavior (Meta, Google, YouTube, CRM, landing pages).
Copywriting & Ideation:
- Write and refine high-quality copy across platforms: ads, landing pages, scripts, social content, emailers, websites, and long-form content when needed.
- Drive ideation sessions to generate campaign ideas, content pillars, social-first concepts, and brand narratives.
- Craft messaging that is insight-led, audience-relevant, and channel-appropriate.
- Strengthen creative concepts through strategic storytelling, rationales, and clear communication thinking.
- Review and elevate conceptual work, ensuring it ladders up to strategy and brand objectives.
- Build strategic POVs and content approaches tailored to platform behavior (Meta, Google, YouTube, CRM, landing pages).
Collaboration, Team Handling & Quality Control:
- Lead a team of copywriters by guiding them on strategic thinking, messaging clarity, and brand alignment.
- Provide structured, constructive feedback to elevate the quality of copy across all deliverables.
- Work closely with art directors, designers, planners, and account managers to develop integrated creative solutions.
- Ensure brand voice and communication guidelines are consistently maintained across channels.
- Set up internal processes for writing quality, version control, time management, and cross-team coordination.
- Manage team bandwidth, assign tasks based on strengths, and ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages problem-solving, experimentation, and creative maturity.
Client & Business Focus:
- Understand client goals, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to craft communication strategies that make impact.
- Support business teams in building narrative-driven presentations for pitches and campaign proposals.
- Present creative strategy and communication approaches confidently to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure strategic alignment across all communication delivered for each brand.
- Contribute to building a strong POV on digital communication effectiveness, platform-specific messaging, and brand storytelling.
Team Development:
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level writers in strategic thinking, storytelling, and multi-format writing.
- Conduct training sessions on communication frameworks, creative strategy, platform best practices, and messaging optimization.
- Create growth pathways for writers through skill assessments, feedback loops, and structured learning.
- Build a high-performing team culture grounded in creativity, ownership, and strategic excellence.
Requirements:
- 6-7 years of experience in copywriting, communication strategy, creative strategy, or integrated digital roles.
- At least 2-3 years of experience leading teams or driving communication strategy.
- Strong portfolio showcasing campaign stories, brand messaging frameworks, and performance-led communication.
- Deep understanding of digital platforms, content behavior, and performance metrics.
- Excellent command over language with the ability to adapt tone, nuance, and messaging across diverse brands.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced agency environment.
- Confidence in presenting work, articulating rationale, and influencing decision-making
