Job Overview :-
We are looking for a results-driven Purchase Manager (F&B) to manage end-to-end procurement operations for food, snacks, and beverage categories. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, market awareness, and experience in handling supplier relationships within the FMCG / Food & Beverage industry. The role involves vendor management, cost optimization, inventory planning, and ensuring smooth supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard food, snacks, and beverage brands across India.
- Negotiate pricing, margins, credit terms, and trade agreements to ensure profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and distributors.
- Develop long-term partnerships that align with company growth and cost objectives.
Category Management:
- Analyze category-wise consumption trends and market demand patterns.
- Develop and implement category growth strategies to increase product availability and sales.
- Manage product assortment, pricing, and promotions in coordination with the marketing and sales teams.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics (lead times, product quality, and fulfillment accuracy).
Purchase Operations:
- Manage timely purchase order (PO) creation, approval, and release.
- Ensure smooth and cost-effective supply chain operations from order to delivery.
- Oversee inventory levels, prevent stockouts or overstocking situations, and coordinate with warehouse teams.
- Evaluate new sourcing opportunities to improve supply efficiency and reduce cost.
Financial & Strategic Planning:
- Monitor procurement budgets and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify potential suppliers and optimize spend.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and reports for audit and compliance.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Finance, Operations, Logistics, and Marketing teams for process alignment.
- Coordinate with the Quality and Compliance teams to ensure all suppliers meet company standards.
- Drive process improvements and implement procurement best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 2-6 years of experience in Procurement / Purchase / Sourcing within the FMCG / Food & Beverage industry.
- Strong knowledge of F&B product categories, sourcing processes, and supplier markets.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Hands-on experience with ERP or procurement management systems.
- Ability to handle multiple categories and vendors simultaneously.
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving mindset.
