Role Overview:

The PR Lead will be responsible for defining, developing, and executing a comprehensive Public Relations and Communications strategy. This senior leadership role requires an experienced communications professional capable of managing both external brand reputation and internal communication frameworks, ensuring consistency, credibility, and alignment with business objectives in the FMCG/Food Processing or consumer-focused sector.

Key Responsibilities:

I. External Communications & Media Relations (Brand Image & Visibility):

- Strategic PR Planning: Develop and execute annual PR strategies and campaigns aligned with business priorities, product launches, and market expansion initiatives.

- Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with national and regional media across print, electronic, and digital platforms, along with industry analysts, influencers, and bloggers.

- Content Development: Oversee creation and dissemination of press releases, media kits, corporate announcements, leadership bylines, keynote content, and interviews.

- Thought Leadership: Position designated spokespersons and senior leadership as industry thought leaders within the FMCG/consumer goods space.

- Digital PR & Reputation Management: Drive digital PR initiatives, conduct social listening, monitor online sentiment, and proactively manage reputation risks and opportunities.

II. Internal Communications (Employee Engagement & Culture):

- Internal Communication Strategy: Design and implement internal communication frameworks to ensure employees are informed, aligned, and engaged with company vision, strategy, and key updates.

- Channel Management: Manage and optimize internal platforms such as newsletters, intranet portals, leadership communications, town halls, and internal announcements.

- Culture & Engagement: Partner with HR and leadership teams to reinforce organizational values, promote culture, and highlight key milestones, achievements, and employee initiatives.

III. Issues & Crisis Management:

- Crisis Preparedness: Develop, maintain, and periodically update a comprehensive crisis communication plan and response manual.

- Crisis Response: Act as the primary communication lead or advisor, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent messaging during critical situations such as media escalations, product issues, or reputational risks.

IV. Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the central communications partner for Marketing, Sales, HR, R&D, and senior leadership to ensure message consistency across all internal and external touchpoints.

- Agency & Budget Management: Manage PR budgets and oversee external PR agencies and vendors, ensuring cost efficiency and measurable ROI.

- Measurement & Reporting: Track, analyze, and present communication metrics including reach, sentiment, share of voice, and media impact to support strategic decision-making.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

- Graduation/Post Graduation in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related discipline (mandatory).

Professional Experience:

- 10-15 years of progressive experience in Public Relations and Corporate Communications.

- Proven capability in managing both internal and external communication functions.

- Prior experience in FMCG, Food & Beverages, or consumer-driven industries is highly desirable.

- Strong ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
