Senior Manager Commercial Lines (Placement)

Department: Commercial Lines

Location: Mumbai (Headquarters)

Reporting To: Vice President

Role Summary:

The Senior Manager for Commercial Placement acts as the primary "Deal Maker" and relationship bridge between Prudents business clients and the insurance market. In this role, you aren't just selling a product; you are a strategic negotiator responsible for finding the best possible protection for large businesses.

You will spend your time building a powerful network with insurance companies, analyzing a client's history to understand their risks, and using your expertise to bargain for lower prices and better coverage. This position requires a professional who enjoys social interaction, possesses a sharp eye for detail, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where "getting the best deal" is the top priority.

Responsibilities:

- Partnership & Relationship Building: Act as the face of Prudent by meeting regularly with key decision-makers at various insurance companies to maintain a strong, active network.

- Client Needs Analysis: Deeply dive into each client's specific business needs, current policy details, and historical data to understand exactly what kind of insurance "package" they require.

- Data-Driven Storytelling: Study past insurance claims and data "dumps," turning messy information into clear, professional reports that explain the client's situation to insurance providers.

- Strategic Negotiation: Pitch client proposals to insurance companies and lead the bargaining process to secure the most competitive prices and widest coverage terms.

- Market Shopping & Benchmarking: Manage the "bidding" process, ensuring that multiple insurance companies provide quotes within strict deadlines so the client has the best options to choose from.

- Liaison & Communication: Act as the central point of contact between the insurance companies and our internal sales teams, ensuring everyone is updated on the status of a deal.

- Market Intelligence: Stay "in the know" regarding new insurance products and industry trends, identifying which insurance companies are currently offering the best terms for specific types of businesses.

- Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Share your "pro-tips," negotiation secrets, and market insights with your teammates to help the entire department grow.

- Problem-Solving & Consultation: Take a helpful, "find a way" approach to every deal, looking for creative solutions when an insurance company is hesitant to offer terms.

- Timeline Management: Take full ownership of the renewal calendar, making sure no client is left unprotected due to a missed deadline.

Key Requirements:

- Professional Experience: 5 to 12 years of experience working within an insurance company or a brokerage firm, specifically in roles focused on managing relationships with insurers.

- People & Influence Skills: Exceptional ability to build rapport, convince others, and navigate difficult negotiations with a win-win mindset.

- Communication Excellence: High level of proficiency in both spoken and written English, necessary for presenting insights to senior leadership and external partners.

- Time Management: A proven track record of handling multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously without letting anything fall through the cracks.

-Service Mindset: A genuine passion for helping clients and providing a "best-in-class" experience.

- Team Collaboration: A collaborative spirit that thrives in an award-winning "Great Place to Work" culture.

- Education: A Master's degree in any field of study.

- Preferred Skills Analytical Thinking: The ability to look at a spreadsheet and quickly summarize the "story" the numbers are telling.

- Conflict Resolution: Staying calm and professional when insurance companies and clients have differing expectations.

- Industry Network: Having an existing circle of contacts within the Mumbai insurance market is highly advantageous.

- Solution-Oriented: The ability to look past a "No" and figure out the specific conditions under which an insurer would say "Yes."
