Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented Manager - Employee Benefits to specialize in Insurer Relationship Management. This pivotal role involves building, maintaining, and deepening relationships with key stakeholders across various insurance companies. The Manager will act as the crucial link between client needs, sales teams, and insurer capabilities, ensuring competitive terms, optimal policy placement, and valuable market insights, all delivered with a consultative and solution-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Focus:
Insurer Relationship Building & Engagement:
- Meet insurance companies regularly to ensure continuous, high-level engagement with different stakeholders across underwriting, claims, and product development departments.
- Actively build and maintain strong professional relationships to secure preferential service levels and timely responses.
Proposal Management and Negotiation:
- Float the proposal to insurers accurately, providing all necessary client and risk information.
- Negotiate terms and premium amount vigorously to secure the most competitive quotes, coverage, and policy terms for clients. Ensure competitive quotes are received in the given timeline, managing the entire tendering process efficiently.
Client Needs Analysis and Policy Placement:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of client needs, existing policy terms, and portfolio information received from sales teams. Follow up with insurers on the proposed terms based on detailed feedback received from client/sales.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Systematically study the claims MIS and dump (raw data). Report the analysis in a presentable format with meaningful insights, translating raw claims data into actionable strategies for clients and sales teams.
Market Intelligence and Knowledge Management:
- Keep abreast with the new products in the market, along along with an understanding of the lines of business currently being focused on by the insurers. Drive Knowledge management efforts, sharing the gathered market insights and best practices with teammates to elevate the entire teams expertise.
Service and Consultative Approach:
- Maintain a strong service orientation, ensuring timely and effective communication with all internal and external parties. Employ a Consultative approach and solution-oriented mindset to solve complex placement or servicing challenges.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 4- 8 years of experience specifically within an Insurance Company or Brokerage in an Insurer Relationship Management or Underwriting Liaison role.
- Education: A minimum of a bachelors degree in any stream.
- Communication & Negotiation: Proficiency in verbal and written English for effective communication and superior negotiation & convincing skills.
- Leadership & Teamwork: Demonstrated capability to be a team leader and drive collaborative results.
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical skills for claims MIS data processing and excellent time management skills.
- Approach: Highly solution-oriented with a proven track record of service excellence.
