Prozo | D2C Freight Aggregation | Job Description | May 2026
Senior Manager - D2C Freight (Lead Analytics)
FUNCTION: Prozo Logistics Network (PLN)
Position: Senior Manager - D2C Freight (Lead Analytics)
Grade: Senior Manager / Lead
The ideal candidate is:
- Design and maintain production-grade analytics using SQL (MySQL), BI tools (Metabase, Looker, Power BI, or equivalent), and Python/scripting where needed.
- Build brand-level, lane-level, and courier-level performance views covering delivery %, attempt rate, COD performance, RTO%, freight cost per shipment, and margin analytics.
- Develop automated alerting systems for SLA breaches, margin erosion, courier performance degradation, and volume anomalies.
Strategic Initiatives with Leadership
- Partner with the Founder's Office and Business Head to scope and ship new strategic initiatives across Tech, Ops, KAM, Finance, and BD - end-to-end, with clear success metrics.
- Translate ambiguous leadership briefs into structured workstreams: define the data question, pull the analysis, propose the solution, build the system, measure the impact. Own initiative velocity - new initiatives should ship within days, not weeks.
Tech Platform Deep-Dives & Courier Integrations
- Lead courier onboarding and integrations on the Prozo tech stack (ProShip PACE) across forward, reverse, surface, and express flows.
- Act as the SPOC with Ops and Tech teams for operational tech issues - diagnose root causes by querying databases and reading API logs, drive resolution, and validate fixes before deployment.
- Deep-dive into Prozo's Control Tower modules, ProShip allocation engine, and operational data pipelines to identify optimisation opportunities that others miss.
- Understand courier API response codes, webhook payloads, and integration data flows at a working level.
Brand-Level Performance & Margin Management
- Run brand-level deep dives: identify performance gaps, margin leakage, courier allocation inefficiencies, and lane-wise cost anomalies.
- Drive the corresponding allocation, pricing, or process changes - own the recommendation AND the implementation.
- Build and maintain the freight P&L analytics layer - unit economics across brands, lanes, courier partners, and shipment types.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Lead a team of 3-5 analysts; define workstreams, raise the technical bar (SQL proficiency, dashboard quality, analytical rigour), and grow analysts into independent owners.
- Operate as the daily cross-functional SPOC across Tech, Ops, KAM, Finance, BD, and Courier partners; drive incidents, integrations, and launches to closure.
- Communicate crisply to senior leadership, document decisions, and eliminate single-person dependencies.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Velocity and impact of new initiatives shipped with leadership (measured by time-to-ship and quantified business impact)
- Freight performance metrics: delivery %, attempt rate, COD performance, RTO% for the D2C Freight book
- Profitability and unit economics visibility: accuracy and timeliness of margin analytics across brands, lanes, and courier partners
- Courier integration and tech-issue resolution TAT
- Dashboard adoption: % of operational decisions driven by dashboards built by this role (vs. ad-hoc requests)
- Team output quality: SQL proficiency, analytical independence, and initiative ownership among direct reports
WHAT IS NOT IN SCOPE
- Warehouse operations, fulfilment SLAs, or inventory management - owned by the Fulfilment Operations team
- ProShip product development or core platform engineering - owned by the Technology team. This role consumes and deep-dives into the platform; it does not write production code for it.
- KAM relationship management and brand commercial negotiations - owned by the KAM/BD team. This role provides the data backbone for those conversations.
- Courier commercial rate negotiations - owned by the Business Head. This role provides the lane-wise, weight-slab, and performance analytics that inform those negotiations.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field
- 5-8 years of experience in analytics, supply chain / logistics, freight aggregation, courier ops, finance-ops, founder's office, or programme management
- Demonstrated ownership of at least one 0-to-1 initiative end-to-end (idea / brief - design - deploy - measure)
- Prior experience leading an analyst team across multiple sub-verticals is strongly preferred
- Prior exposure to logistics aggregation platforms, courier APIs, or freight tech systems is a strong plus
- Experience in 3PL / e-commerce / D2C / logistics industry is preferred
TECHNICAL SKILLS - NON-NEGOTIABLE
These are not "nice to have." The role requires hands-on technical proficiency:
- SQL (MySQL / PostgreSQL): Production-grade querying - complex JOINs, window functions, CTEs, subqueries, aggregation across million-row tables. You should be able to write a query that answers a business question in under 15 minutes, not 2 days.
- BI & Dashboarding: Experience building and maintaining dashboards in Metabase, Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent. Not just viewing dashboards - designing the data model behind them.
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets: Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, array formulas, conditional formatting, data validation. This is your daily workhorse for ad-hoc analysis.
- Python / Scripting (strong plus): Pandas, data wrangling, automation scripts, API interaction. Not required to be a software engineer, but should be comfortable automating repetitive data tasks.
- API & Integration Debugging: Comfort reading API documentation, understanding webhook payloads, parsing JSON responses, and diagnosing integration failures at a working level.
Data Infrastructure Awareness:
- Understanding of how data flows from source systems (WMS, TMS, OMS) through ETL pipelines to analytics layers. Familiarity with data warehousing, event streaming (Kafka), and caching (Redis) is a plus.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Strong commercial acumen - reads courier rate cards, lane-wise commercials, and key trade-offs (cost, SLA, customer experience, risk) fluently
- Working understanding of forward, reverse, surface, and express freight flows
- Comfort with brand-level performance metrics and the analytics behind them
- Exceptional structured communication - can present a 5-slide summary to the CEO or a 50-row data table to the ops team with equal clarity
- Bias for action and speed. This is a ship-fast culture. Analysis paralysis is the anti-pattern.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity - not all problems come with clean briefs or complete data
- Strong team-building instinct - raises the bar for the analyst team, builds institutional knowledge, eliminates single-person dependencies
WORKING CONDITIONS
- On-site at Panchkula / Chandigarh Tricity office
- Direct exposure to the Founder's Office and senior leadership - new initiatives can ship the same week
- Peak workload during month-end closes (financial reconciliation), new courier go-lives, and brand onboarding surges
- Occasional travel to Prozo's Gurugram HQ or warehouse locations for operational deep-dives
