About PropChk:

PropChk is India's leading Property Inspection Company, working with top real estate developers across the country to deliver defect-free homes through structured, technology-driven inspections.

We have conducted over 35,000 inspections across 10 cities covering 600+ projects with 50 mn sq ft under inspection at present. We are now entering the next phase of growth - strengthening and scaling our technology backbone to support exponential expansion.

We are looking for a hands-on, execution-focused CTO who will own the entire technology function end-to-end.

Role Overview:

This is not a ceremonial CTO role.

You will:

- Own the entire tech stack

- Manage and control the external development agency

- Drive development of new features, products and applications

- Troubleshoot outages, performance issues, and security concerns

- Architect long-term scalability

- Eventually build and lead an in-house tech team (Developers, QA, DevOps, Architect)

- You must be equally comfortable writing code, reviewing architecture, debugging server issues, and defining product roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technology Ownership:

- Take complete responsibility for PropChk's tech ecosystem

- Audit and improve current architecture

- Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability

- Implement best practices in code quality and deployment

2. Agency Management:

- Lead and control the external development partner

- Define sprint goals, timelines and deliverables

- Enforce coding standards and architectural discipline

- Conduct code reviews and security reviews

3. Product & Feature Development:

- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions

- Lead development of new features in Admin Portal & Mobile App

- Improve performance, UX and automation capabilities

- Build future-ready architecture for scale

4. Infrastructure & DevOps:

- Oversee AWS infrastructure

- Ensure uptime, monitoring, logging and backup systems

- Implement CI/CD pipelines

- Strengthen cloud security and IAM policies

- Optimize cost structures

5. Security & Compliance:

- Implement secure authentication systems

- Strengthen API security and rate limiting

- Ensure encrypted communication and credential management

- Build robust disaster recovery protocols

6. Team Building (Phase 2):

- Hire and build in-house team (Frontend, Backend, QA, DevOps)

- Create development processes

- Establish documentation and knowledge management

- Define tech KPIs and accountability structure

Tech Snapshot:

- Full-stack JavaScript ecosystem (React / Next.js / React Native / Node.js with TypeScript)

- Cloud-native, serverless architecture on AWS

- RESTful API design with scalable backend services

- MongoDB-based data architecture with optimized indexing

- Secure authentication and role-based access systems

- Offline-capable mobile applications with device integrations

- Automated PDF generation & media-heavy workflows

- Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and production monitoring

- CDN-enabled global content delivery

- Security-first engineering (API protection, encryption, rate limiting, validation)

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- 10+ years of software development experience

- 3+ years in architecture or technical leadership

- Strong hands-on coding ability (not just managerial)

- Deep AWS and Serverless architecture experience

- Experience scaling products from early-stage to growth-stage

- Strong debugging & production troubleshooting skills

- Prior experience managing external tech agencies

- Strong documentation and process mindset

- Startup mindset - ownership driven

- Strong pedigree (Engineering graduates from IITs & Top 10 NITs only)
