Job Title: Head of Factory Operations

Location: Ahmedabad & Gandhinagar (Factory Locations)

Role Overview

The Head of Factory Operations at Prompt DairyTech will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of factory operations - from product design and engineering to manufacturing, quality control, and dispatch. This leadership role ensures that production runs efficiently, safely, and in line with Prompt's commitment to quality, innovation, and on-time delivery for its range of products.

The ideal candidate will combine hands-on operational expertise with strategic thinking to optimize production efficiency and uphold Prompt's reputation for reliability and precision in the Indian and global dairy tech ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Factory Operations & Production

- Lead daily operations of the factory, ensuring smooth and efficient production flow across all product lines.

- Plan, coordinate, and monitor the entire manufacturing process - from assembly and calibration to packaging and dispatch.

- Ensure adherence to production targets, cost budgets, and resource utilization benchmarks.

- Drive process improvements using lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

- Plan for resource allocation and the requisite manpower to run the operations efficiently.

Product Design & Development

- Collaborate with the R&D and Product Design teams to translate conceptual designs into manufacturable products.

- Supervise the prototyping, testing, and validation of new solutions.

- Provide technical feedback for product optimization, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Quality Assurance & Standards

- Establish and enforce rigorous quality standards across all manufacturing stages.

- Ensure all products meet internal and statutory quality requirements (BIS, CE, ISO standards).

- Promote a zero-defect, safety-first culture on the shop floor.

Supply Chain, Dispatch & Vendor Coordination

- Oversee inbound material management and coordinate with the procurement team for timely availability of components.

- Ensure smooth and timely dispatch of finished products to customers and regional warehouses.

- Build partnerships with reliable vendors and ensure compliance with Prompt's quality benchmarks.

Leadership & Team Development

- Lead a multidisciplinary team including production, maintenance, quality, and logistics personnel.

- Foster a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and teamwork.

- Identify training needs and mentor team members to strengthen leadership depth within factory operations.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering (Master's preferred).

- 12-18 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or automation-based production environments, with at least 5 years in a senior operational leadership role.

- Proven experience in managing electromechanical or instrumentation product lines, ideally within industrial automation, IoT devices, or equipment sectors.

- Working knowledge of ERP/manufacturing software systems.

- Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM practices preferred.
