Role Overview:
- Works with: Product Manager (Business, CA), the testing team, the external development agency, and the internal tech team.
- Mandate: Single accountable owner for delivery, UI/UX, compliance testing, and tech-team building.
Role:
- Manage the external development agency: SLA enforcement, change-request governance and escalation protocols, while planning and building an internal tech team to reduce external dependency over time.
- Run Agile/Scrum delivery: sprint planning, backlog grooming, JIRA administration and sprint-review facilitation.
- Own SDLC documentation: FSD/BRD review and sign-off ownership, UAT coordination and release notes.
- Take the signed-off FSD forward: explain it to the tech team's Business Analyst and ensure no explanation, assumption or build goes beyond what is documented in the FSD. Gaps are taken back into the document, not handled verbally.
- Plan the FSD scope into development: sequencing and releases.
- Own UI/UX finalisation and implementation: securing approval before build proceeds.
- Own testing: prepare test data and plan internal testing after each release. As this is a GST compliance product, testing verifies that compliance data flows into the correct bucket per GST rules. The testing team validates flow and feel from the client's perspective; this is not unit testing.
- Own all documents produced: store every data set and shared artifact in a clean, organised, retrievable manner; keep email and written communication crisp and on-record.
- Run the project and team: with discipline, ownership and full accountability for delivery.
- Own the building and planning of the entire internal tech team: structure, hiring plan and capability over time.
- Bridge business and technical stakeholders: translating between the CEO/CA team and the technical team so both work to the same documented understanding.
Required Experience:
- Seniority: Minimum 10 - 15 years in a Project Manager or delivery-lead role.
- Vendor management: Proven experience managing an external development agency, including SLA enforcement, change-request governance and escalation, plus a track record of building an internal team and reducing external dependency.
- Agile/Scrum delivery: Hands-on sprint planning, backlog grooming, JIRA administration and sprint-review facilitation.
- SDLC documentation: FSD/BRD review and sign-off ownership, UAT coordination and release notes.
- Stakeholder communication: Able to bridge business stakeholders (CEO/CA team) and technical stakeholders.
- Domain adjacency: Prior exposure to fintech, RegTech, compliance software or ERP-adjacent products is a strong plus.
- UI/UX ownership: Able to drive and finalise UI/UX decisions with the business and design, to approval.
Attributes & Temperament:
- Documentation-first: holds that build must not exceed the documented FSD, and enforces it calmly through process rather than escalation.
- Organised and crisp: clean records, version control, precise written and email communication.
- Ownership mindset: takes full accountability for delivery and for the team, and runs both with discipline.
- Bridge-builder: keeps business and technical stakeholders aligned to one documented understanding.
- Builder: motivated by standing up an internal team and reducing external dependency, not only by running what exists.
Key Deliverables:
- A governed development-agency relationship (SLAs, change control) and a staffed, planned internal tech team over time.
- A running Agile delivery cadence with clean JIRA and sprint governance.
- Signed-off FSDs carried into build with no scope drift; coordinated UAT and release notes.
- Approved UI/UX for each module before development.
- Compliance-focused test data and internal test plans per release, feeding beta sign-off.
- A clean, organised, retrievable repository of all documents, data and approvals.
