JOB SUMMARY
The PROJECT MANAGER (JR) will assist in the planning, execution, and finalization of projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This role involves supporting senior project managers, coordinating team activities, and ensuring project deliverables are met. The Junior Project Manager will work closely with stakeholders to ensure project goals are achieved and will gain valuable experience in project management. This role may also be responsible for delivering one or more major/minor projects to achieve the business objectives and streamline the associated changes across IT and operations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management
- Assist in the planning and implementation of strategic and major projects, or owning the planning and implementation of minor projects ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
- Support senior project managers in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and budgets and manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams and third parties/vendors to define, prioritize and achieve strategic objectives for the best-in-class execution of projects.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork.
- Facilitate regular project meetings to ensure alignment and progress.
- Monitor and track project progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Implement all possible strategies to deliver projects on-time, within scope, and within budget.
- Perform basic risk management to minimize project risks, including:
- Identifying potential risks early in the project lifecycle.
- Assisting in developing risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Communicating risks and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
- Proactively addressing and resolving issues as they arise.
- Assist in managing project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Promote transparency by maintaining clear and open communication channels with all stakeholders.
- Assist with vendor management, perform initial reviews of SOWs to target fair and transparent accountability is established for all agreed deliverables
- Drive the projects through various types of testing, working closely with Test Managers and vendors to ensure a sense of urgency for defect turnaround and resolution, quality reporting and escalation.
Support data-driven decision making by:
- Collecting and analyzing project data to inform decisions.
- Utilizing metrics and KPIs to track project performance.
- Making adjustments based on data insights to optimize project outcomes.
- Actively participate in project evaluations and assessment of results to ensure continuous improvement.
Support project admin
- Track project activity

This position works closely with the SBCs Executives, Business Segment Leaders, Project Management, Governance and Transformation/Technology Teams, and other enabling groups (ie. Compliance, Audit, Risk, Finance, IT Group, Human Capital Management (HCM), others as applicable).
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Years of Work Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience
- Educational Attainment: Bachelor's Degree
- Required course (if applicable): Business Studies/Administration/Management, -Accounting/Finance/ Banking, Industrial Engineering, IT-related. Open to any field of study
- Required Certification/Professional License (if applicable): Project Management (PMP, Prince 2), Agile/Scrum (CSM, PSM) certified or any related licenses
- Field of Specialization (if applicable): Banking and Financial, Strategy, Transformation, Change Management
Knowledge and Skills Requirement
- Some experience in project management or related roles, Experience in supporting multiple projects simultaneously is a plus.
- Some experience managing external vendors
- Appreciation of different types of testing to include manual, automated, performance, DITL, regression, etc.
- Basic understanding of project management methodologies and tools including agile, hybrid and waterfall.
- Proactive self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
- Basic experience in financial management and budgeting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Basic understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Interest in data-driven decision making and promoting transparency.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Bachelors Degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
