JOB SUMMARY

The PROJECT MANAGER (EXPERT) is a strategic delivery leader responsible for orchestrating enterprise-wide transformation programs and high-impact initiatives. With deep expertise in project governance, stakeholder alignment, and change enablement, this role ensures that complex programs are delivered with precision, agility, and measurable business value. The Expert PM serves as a trusted advisor to senior executives, drives continuous improvement, and fosters a culture of excellence across the project management discipline.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Program Delivery

- Lead the execution of enterprise-level programs and transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory frameworks.

- Define and drive program governance structures, delivery models, and stakeholder engagement plans across business and technology domains.

- Oversee integrated planning, budgeting, and resource management across multiple workstreams and vendor ecosystems.

- Serve as a key escalation point for program risks, dependencies, and delivery bottlenecks; implement mitigation strategies and executive-level reporting.

Executive Stakeholder Management

- Partner with C-suite leaders, business segment heads, and enabling functions to ensure strategic alignment and sponsorship.

- Facilitate executive steering committees, program boards, and strategic reviews with data-driven insights and recommendations.

- Influence business process reengineering and policy shifts to support transformation outcomes.

Delivery Excellence & Governance

- Establish and enforce project management standards, tools, and methodologies across portfolios.

- Drive quality assurance across testing phases (manual, automated, performance, regression, etc.) and ensure defect turnaround accountability.

- Promote transparency through robust reporting, dashboards, and KPI tracking; lead post-implementation reviews and benefits realization assessments.

Leadership & Capability Building

- Mentor and coach senior project managers and cross-functional leads; contribute to succession planning and talent development.

- Lead communities of practice, knowledge-sharing forums, and continuous improvement initiatives across the PM discipline.

- Champion agile, hybrid, and waterfall delivery models based on project context and stakeholder needs.

SCOPE AND DIMENSION OF THE JOB

This position works closely with the SBC's Executives, Business Segment Leaders, Project Management, Governance and Transformation/Technology Teams, and other enabling groups (ie. Compliance, Audit, Risk, Finance, IT Group, Human Capital Management (HCM), others as applicable).

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

- Years of Work Experience: 13+ Years of relevant experience

- Educational Attainment: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, IT, or related field

Required/Preferred Certifications:

Project Management Professional (PMP) - Required

PRINCE2 Practitioner / MSP / PgMP - Preferred

Agile/Scrum (CSM, PSM, SAFe Agilist) - Required

Lean Six Sigma / Change Management (PROSCI, ACMP) - Optional

Banking, Financial Services, or Regulatory Transformation experience - Highly Preferred

Knowledge and Skills Requirement

- Proven working experience in senior project management roles with a focus on delivery.

- Demonstrated experience managing external vendors

- Extensive experience of all types of testing to include manual, automated, performance, DITL, regression, etc.

- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools across agile, hybrid and waterfall.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to establish strong collaborative working relationships with cross matrix stakeholders, at all levels, across the organization.

- Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative team environment.

- Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and a proactive approach to project management.

- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking abilities.

- Expertise in risk management and mitigation strategies.

- Proven ability to lead data-driven decision making and promote transparency.

- Demonstrated experience in use of AI to bring efficiency into Project Management

- Experience in financial management and budgeting.

- Able to work independently with experience in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management software.

- Project Management / Agile certification is a plus.

- Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.

- Experience in mentoring and guiding junior team members.
