Position Overview


Our client is a leading global player in the beauty and personal care industry, with a strong international presence and a long-term growth strategy across Asia.


As part of this expansion, a major initiative is being launched in India to accelerate market development. This multi-year transformation roadmap will focus on:

- Deploying a revised go-to-market model

- Strengthening distribution and channel management

- Deepening market penetration and consumer engagement

We are seeking an experienced -Project Director - India- to spearhead this program. The incumbent will serve as the senior interim leader, driving business transformation while aligning with both regional and global leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Execution:

- Lead the design and execution of the multi year India market transformation roadmap-.

- Implement a revised go-to-market strategy tailored to Indian consumer behavior and distribution models.

- Drive -sales growth, brand expansion, and market penetration- in line with global strategy.

Distribution & Market Development:

- Strengthen and optimize complex distribution channels- across India.

- Build and manage partnerships with distributors, retailers, and e-commerce platforms.

- Ensure excellence in -last-mile execution- to deepen market reach.

Team & Stakeholder Management:

- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing India team, fostering a culture of performance and accountability.

- Act as a bridge between -local execution- and -regional/global leadership alignment-.

- Manage multiple stakeholders including internal teams, global counterparts, and external partners.

Operational Excellence:

- Ensure business operations run with discipline, resilience, and consistency under pressure.

- Drive -cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance.

- Establish robust monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track project performance.

Change Management:

- Navigate organizational complexity with pragmatism and focus.

- Energize teams through clear communication and steady leadership.

- Promote global best practices while adapting to local market dynamics.

Eligibility Criteria:

Education:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in -Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or related field.

Experience:

- Proven track record in India-, with hands-on experience managing businesses, teams, and deep distribution networks.

- Strong background in -beauty, personal care, FMCG, retail, or luxury industries- (preferred).

- Demonstrated success in -Sales & Marketing leadership, driving - brand growth and market expansion

- Experience in -business transformation- and managing large-scale initiatives.

Languages:

- Fluency in English- (mandatory, for regional/global alignment).

- Proficiency in -Hindi and/or other Indian languages- (advantageous).

Leadership & Personality Traits:

- Strategic yet hands-on leader with strong organizational and execution capabilities.

- Senior-level expertise but approaches challenges with humility and agility ("senior expertise with junior behavior").

- Resilient under pressure, with the ability to deliver consistent results.

- Adept at -multi-cultural collaboration, balancing global perspectives with local realities.

- Recognized as a -trusted, steady leader- who can align and energize teams.
