About the Role:
The Program Director - BESS will lead companies Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) vertical, with full accountability for delivering the flagship 5 MW BESS product line. The role has end to end responsibility for the design, engineering, RND and manufacturing operations, supply chain and delivery of the flagship 5 MW BESS product line. The role ensures timely execution within budget, adherence to global safety standards & certifications, robust supply chain management & compliance with all regulatory and investor requirements.
Job Summary:
As the head of the BESS program, the Program Director will drive the full product life-cycle from concept design to customer delivery, establishing the function as a center of excellence within the company. The role requires string technical depth in energy storage technologies, proven expertise in manufacturing & operations leadership, and the ability to manage cross - functional teams spanning engineering, R&D, Supply chain, Quality & testing, safety and compliance. The program director will also serve as the key customer & investor interface for program progress & delivery assurance.
Core Deliverables:
- Program Delivery: Lead end-to-end execution of the 5 MW BESS product line, ensuring adherence to project scope, cost, quality, and schedule.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Ensure engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, and sales teams are aligned to program goals and timelines.
- Engineering and R&D leadership: Oversee design, prototyping and product development for the 5 MW BESS line, ensure innovation & scalability.
- Manufacturing Operations - Lead plant operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality control and adherence to safety standards.
- Safety Standards and Certifications: Ensure product and process compliance with national & international safety standards, certifications & testing protocols.
- Customer Interface: Act as the primary liaison with key customers, ensuring requirements are understood, incorporated, and delivered.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure program activities meet applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal compliance checkpoints.
- Milestone Management: Conduct regular milestone reviews and program health checks, identifying risks and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Budget & Cost Control: Oversee financial planning, monitoring, and reporting for the program to ensure adherence to budget.
- Continuous improvements: Implement systems for process optimization, cost reduction, and operational excellence.
