Production Manager - Automotive

The automotive industry is being reshaped by advanced manufacturing, automation, electrification, and increasingly complex supply chains. We are seeking a highly motivated Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations at our Pune facility, ensuring world-class standards in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.

This leadership role is responsible for managing end-to-end production operations, optimising manufacturing processes, and driving operational excellence across the shop floor. Working closely with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Industrial Engineering teams, you will ensure efficient production while supporting continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive manufacturing and a proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.

Responsibilities :

- Lead daily production activities to achieve production targets, quality standards, and customer delivery commitments.

- Develop production plans and optimise manpower, machinery, and material utilisation.

- Ensure smooth manufacturing operations while maintaining high productivity and operational efficiency.

- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, SMED, and Continuous Improvement initiatives across the plant.

- Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions to eliminate bottlenecks and improve performance.

- Collaborate with Maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.

- Work closely with Quality teams to reduce defects, improve First Pass Yield (FPY), and achieve Zero Defect Manufacturing.

- Support new product introduction (NPI), APQP activities, PPAP submissions, and production readiness.

- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, and statutory regulations.

Qualifications :

- BE/B.TECH - Mechanical.

- MBA in Operations or Manufacturing Management is preferred.

Experience :

- 11 - 20 years of experience in automotive manufacturing.

- Minimum 3 years in a Production Manager or similar leadership position.

- Experience with OEMs or Tier-1 automotive suppliers is highly desirable.
