Inspired by platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram, our mission is to create a fast, scalable, and privacy-first messaging ecosystem that supports 1:1 chats, group conversations, voice/video integrations, and end-to-end encryption.

Were a product-driven company backed by experienced engineers, designers, and entrepreneurs, and are now expanding our product team to help define and deliver world-class messaging experiences.


ABOUT THE ROLE.

We are looking for a seasoned Product Manager to lead the development of our core messaging experience including chat, groups, notifications, media sharing, presence, and real-time features.

This role requires deep domain expertise in consumer messaging platforms, a strong technical foundation, and a sharp focus on user experience.

You will work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and marketing to define the roadmap, prioritize features, and drive execution from concept to launch in a fast-paced, agile environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.


Product Strategy & Vision.


- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for core messaging features.

- Define and drive a long-term product vision aligned with the companys mission and market trends.

- Translate user needs, competitive analysis, and internal insights into actionable product roadmaps.


Feature Definition & Delivery.

- Design and deliver features such as: Real-time 1:1 and group messaging; Typing indicators, read receipts, and delivery status; Push notifications and in-app alerts; Media sharing (images, videos, voice notes, files); User presence and status indicators; Message reactions, quoting, forwarding, and replies.

- Collaborate with designers to create simple, intuitive, and delightful user experiences.

- Work with engineers to define detailed product requirements (PRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria.


Execution & Delivery.


- Prioritize product features and enhancements based on user value, tech feasibility, and business goals.


- Manage sprint planning, backlog grooming, and product releases in partnership with engineering leads.

- Own KPIs for feature adoption, reliability, latency, and engagement and use data to make informed decisions.


User-Centered Development.

- Conduct user research and competitive benchmarking to identify gaps and opportunities.

- Champion the voice of the user throughout the product development lifecycle.

- Collaborate with customer support to gather feedback, analyse complaints, and improve user satisfaction.


Cross-Functional Collaboration.


- Coordinate across backend (Erlang, Java), frontend (Android, iOS, Web), DevOps, QA, and design teams.


- Work closely with marketing, legal, and growth teams for go-to-market (GTM) strategy and launch readiness.

- Serve as a domain expert and evangelist for messaging within the organization.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS.

- 8+ years of product management experience, with at least 5+ years in messaging, social, or communication products.

- Proven track record of delivering complex consumer-facing mobile apps at scale.

- Deep understanding of real-time communication systems, messaging protocols (e.g., XMPP, MQTT), and backend/frontend dependencies.

- Strong technical literacy comfortable working closely with engineers on architecture and tradeoffs.

- Experience working in agile environments, writing PRDs, managing sprints, and driving iterative product development.

- Highly analytical and data-driven; strong proficiency with product analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel, Firebase).

- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS.


- Experience with end-to-end encryption, secure messaging, or privacy-first applications.

- Familiarity with push notification systems, offline sync, and multi-device support.

- Understanding of mobile UX patterns and performance optimization strategies.

- Prior experience launching products in emerging markets or under low-bandwidth conditions.

- Exposure to WebRTC, voice/video integration, or decentralized communication platforms.
