Product Development Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Product Development Manager to lead the development lifecycle for our womenswear categories. This pivotal role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, technical expertise in garment construction, and proven ability to balance creative vision with commercial viability, ensuring all products maintain brand DNA, meet quality standards, and achieve cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Calendar Leadership: Lead and manage the entire womenswear product development calendar across all categories, including tops, bottoms, dresses, outerwear, and accessories, ensuring strict adherence to seasonal timelines.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the central liaison, collaborating closely with design, merchandising, sourcing, and buying teams to finalize seasonal direction, aesthetic consistency, and category commercial objectives.
- Technical Specification: Oversee and manage the creation of detailed tech packs, including finalization of fabric selection, trims, garment detailing, and precise product specifications.
- Sampling & Prototyping: Manage the prototyping, sample development lifecycle, and execution of fit sessions with designers and technical teams, ensuring design intent is translated accurately and efficiently.
- Cost & Feasibility: Work closely with sourcing teams and suppliers to assess the manufacturing feasibility, costing, and scalability of designs, ensuring the right balance between product innovation, brand aesthetic, and cost efficiency.
- Quality & Fit Standards: Oversee fittings and ensure that all product specifications and samples consistently meet brand quality and rigorous fit standards throughout the development stage.
- Vendor Management: Manage key vendor relationships to ensure the timely delivery of development samples, resolve any production scale-up issues, and guarantee quality outcomes.
- Issue Resolution: Proactively monitor and swiftly resolve any quality or technical issues that arise during the entire development and sampling phase.
- Experience: Proven, extensive experience in product development management, specifically within womenswear apparel.
- Technical Acumen: Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, fabric properties, and fit standards.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage and execute against complex, fast-paced seasonal product calendars.
