Procurement Consultant - Global Energy & Materials Sector - Contractual

Role: Associate - Procurement (External Consultant)

Location: Gurgaon (primary); must be open to frequent travel

Duration: 12 months (extendable)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically strong external consultant with deep procurement experience in the Global Energy and Materials sector. This includes industries such as metals, chemicals, energy, fertilizers, and related domains.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to conceptualize and drive impactful procurement strategies. This role is equivalent to an Associate-level position in leading consulting firms and will require close collaboration with internal teams and clients across regions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and support procurement optimization projects in the Global Energy and Materials space

2. Conduct data analysis, identify cost-saving opportunities, and develop sourcing strategies

3. Drive category strategy development, supplier negotiations, and performance management

4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery

5. Prepare high-quality presentations and reports for internal and client discussions

5. Travel frequently to client locations as required

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Option 1: Consulting Background

1. 2-5 years of experience in top-tier consulting firms such as Accenture, KPMG, Bain, BCG, A.T. Kearney, Alvarez & Marsal, Oliver Wyman, etc.

2. Must have worked extensively on procurement-focused engagements, preferably in the Global Energy and Materials sector

3. 2-7 years of experience in leading Global Energy and Materials companies in procurement roles

Option 2: Industry Background

1. 2-7 years of experience in leading Global Energy and Materials companies in procurement roles

2. Strong analytical and conceptual problem-solving capabilities

Preferred companies include:

Educational Qualifications:

1. Strong academic background

2. Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
