Role Overview:
As an Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting independent audits across various departments to evaluate the effectiveness of internal processes, identify control gaps, and work with stakeholders to design and implement corrective measures. This role focuses on ensuring process robustness, compliance, and continuous improvement, thereby contributing to organizational risk management and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct end-to-end process audits across departments to evaluate existing workflows, controls, and compliance with policies/SOPs.
- Identify process gaps, risks, and inefficiencies, and prepare detailed audit reports with actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with respective departments to help them formulate or enhance processes and controls to address identified gaps.
- Monitor and track the implementation of agreed action plans and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Support the Risk Manager in updating risk registers and strengthening the overall control framework.
- Provide insights to management on systemic issues, recurring process gaps, or emerging risks.
- Stay updated on best practices in internal audit, compliance, and governance to enhance audit effectiveness.
- Coordinate with external auditors and other assurance functions as required.
- Check approval workflows ensuring segregation of duties and proper authorization
- Test system controls for expense submissions, approvals, and payments to spot weaknesses or policy violations
- Compare actual expenses versus budgeted/estimated amounts for estate operations.
- Recommend enhanced controls, policy updates, process optimization (such as documentation handling or digital record-keeping)
