Position Overview:
The Pro-Vice Chancellor serves towards excellence in teaching, research, administration, innovation, and community engagement. The Pro-VC is responsible for aligning the universitys operations with UGC, AICTE, Pharmacy council of India, NBA, NAAC standards, while fostering a multidisciplinary, inclusive, and forward-looking academic environment across Engineering, science, Arts, Law & Management and related domains.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic & Administrative Leadership
- Provide visionary direction to diverse faculties such as Engineering, science, Arts, Law & Management and interdisciplinary studies.
- Champion curriculum innovation, outcome-based education (OBE), and CBCS frameworks.
- Promote research culture, publications, patents, and funded projects.
- Lead preparation for NAAC/NBA/ABET assessment, NIRF ranking, and other quality benchmarks.
Institutional Development
- Drive institutional growth aligned with NEP 2020, focusing on holistic and multidisciplinary education.
- Oversee faculty recruitment, development, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure integration of digital tools in teaching-learning and administrative processes.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with UGC (University) Regulations, AICTE, BCI, Pharmacy council of India, NAAC, NBA and other statutory bodies.
- Serve as Member of the Academic Council, Board of Management, and other statutory committees.
- Lead the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to ensure sustained institutional quality and accreditation readiness.
Student Success & Diversity
- Cultivate a student-centric ecosystem promoting equity, inclusion, employability, and life skills.
- Oversee student welfare, academic progression, and career support services.
Strategic & Financial Oversight
- Collaborate with the Finance Officer for budget planning and optimal resource allocation.
- Mobilize resources through research grants, industry collaboration, and philanthropic support.
External Engagement & Branding
- Represent the university in academic, governmental, and international forums.
- Strengthen alumni relations, industry linkages, and international partnerships.
Essential Qualifications (UGC Norms):
- A distinguished academician with a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Professor in a University or equivalent position in a reputed research/academic institution.
- Proven record of research, peer-reviewed publications, academic leadership, and administrative experience.
- Age preferably below 55 years at the time of application.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience Served as Dean/Director-computer science engineering with latest technology and trends
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary institutions with NAAC & NBA accreditation (preferably A Grade or above).
- Knowledge of OBE, NBA (for engineering and Management), and NEP-aligned reforms.
- Familiarity with NIRF, QS/Times rankings, ABET accreditation and digital transformation in higher education.
- Demonstrated ability in institution-building, strategic planning, implementation and policy advocacy.
