
Job Title: Private Aviation Manager - Strategy & Operations
Reporting To: Senior Investment Team
Role Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Private Aviation Manager (5-7 years' experience) to lead the strategic and operational management of the family office's private aviation assets. The role encompasses oversight of AOC operations, end-to-end aircraft transaction management, vendor and OEM relationship management, regulatory compliance, and financial controls. The candidate will interface regularly with senior management, delivering insights and recommendations to inform decision-making and safeguard asset performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. AOC Oversight & Governance
- Oversee charter activities under the AOC to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and financial viability
- Review charter logs, crew rosters, and flight documentation to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherence
- Implement and monitor internal controls to mitigate fraud, misreporting, or revenue leakage
- Manage accounting and reconciliation processes, including coordination of third-party audits
2. Aviation Market Intelligence
- Monitor global and regional private aviation trends (pricing, demand, fuel costs, regulatory shifts)
- Benchmark operational and financial performance of aviation assets against industry standards
- Deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders
3. Aircraft Lifecycle Management
- Lead end-to-end management of aircraft divestments, including valuation, documentation, and execution
- Oversee delivery, acceptance, and customization of new aircraft
- Coordinate with legal counsel, OEMs, and technical advisors to ensure smooth transitions
4. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, lessors, MROs, and AOC partners
- Evaluate proposals for aircraft acquisition and lead associated due diligence processes
- Negotiate terms and service levels, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
5. Senior Management Interface
- Act as the aviation subject matter expert for the CIO and senior leadership
- Provide regular updates on operational performance, financial metrics, and strategic priorities
- Prepare structured reports and briefing materials for key decision-making forums
Candidate Profile
- 5-7 years of experience in private aviation, aircraft asset management, or charter operations
- Proven knowledge of AOC operations, ownership structures, and aviation regulations
- Experience managing aircraft transactions (buy/sell/lease), financial oversight, and market research
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Business, or a related field
