JOB DESCRIPTION:

Principal (VC Fund)

Designation: Principal

Function: Thesis building diligence, closure, portfolio management

Grade: D

Reporting To: Director, Investment

Direct reports: Director, Investment

Indirect reports: Managing Director, CIO

Job Description:

- The core responsibility includes thesis building, doing business and financial research and diligence on startups that are raising capital, analyzing in depth their industry, competition, creating a detailed research note, and sourcing deals,

- Originating deals, closing and portfolio management. Exits will be a key focus area.

- Do in-depth industry research involving global and domestic industry data and mapping of the entire chain of participants

- Strong technology understanding, ideally someone from engineering background.

- Performing due diligence, engaging with founders and liaison with the legal counsel in deal closure

- Research on deals, trends, transactions in startup early stage ecosystem

- Build a network of industry participants across industry coverage.

- Support founders through growth, governance C fundraising.

- Managing and expanding LP base.

- Writing update notes and reports

- Doing industry networking across various industries where the fund has exposure.

Relevant experience required: 6+ years

Personal Attributes Requirements:

We seek candidates with a unique blend of leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills. In addition to functional responsibilities, the candidate is expected to act as a key engagement point with investors and other market participants for portfolio companies.

Qualification

- Post graduate or an equivalent professional degree (CFA pursuing preferred) with 6+ years of VC investment or consulting experience.

- Hands on multi-tasker, self-directed, capable of working independently and as part of the team.

- Specific skills - industry research, primary (on ground) research.

- Excellent oral and writing skills (mandatory)

- Absolute discretion when dealing with confidential matters

- Able to work independently and adaptable to work in demanding environment

- Team player, perseverant, passionate about long term investing

- PowerPoint and Excel expertise required
