Principal - Venture Capital

Role Overview:

A venture capital fund is hiring a Principal to manage its portfolio and lead new investments. The role is positioned as a direct bridge to partnership and carries both investment execution and fundraising responsibility.

Key responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee a portfolio of 20-25 companies, providing strategic direction and operational guidance

- Track and analyse portfolio KPIs and make data-driven decisions to support growth

- Lead follow-on funding rounds and prepare companies for subsequent capital raises

- Oversee shareholder agreements, term sheets and legal documentation with a working understanding of dilution and valuation adjustments

- Identify and evaluate 12-15 new investment opportunities annually across B2B SaaS, FinTech and Deeptech

- Conduct market research and financial analysis to assess viability; structure and negotiate deals

- Prepare reports for limited partners and engage current and prospective LPs to build the funding pipeline

- Lead and mentor junior investment professionals

Candidate profile:

- Minimum 5 years in venture capital or private equity with a track record of managing an extensive portfolio and executing multiple investments annually. Strong numbers and KPI orientation, proven deal sourcing, due diligence, financial analysis and negotiation skills.
