Role Overview:

The Principal Officer for PMS will serve as the primary regulatory and strategic lead for our Portfolio Management Services division in Mumbai. This role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of portfolio management, from ensuring strict adherence to SEBI compliance frameworks to driving the firms fundraising initiatives. You will work closely with the investment committee, research analysts, and high-net-worth clients to translate market insights into actionable investment strategies. By balancing regulatory oversight with business development, you will play a pivotal role in scaling our assets under management and maintaining the firms reputation for excellence in the wealth management space.

Key Responsibilities:

- Direct the overall operations of the PMS division to ensure full compliance with SEBI regulations and internal risk management policies.

- Lead fundraising efforts by engaging with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors to expand the firms client base.

- Collaborate with the equity research team to refine investment theses and ensure portfolio alignment with the firms core investment philosophy.

- Manage client relationships by providing transparent performance reporting and strategic investment updates to maintain long-term trust.

- Oversee the internal audit and regulatory reporting processes to mitigate operational risks and ensure seamless interaction with market regulators.

- Mentor junior team members to foster a culture of leadership and analytical rigor within the investment desk.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in managing PMS portfolio with a deep understanding of equity research methodologies and market valuation techniques.

- Proven ability to lead fundraising campaigns and manage complex client relationships within the banking or wealth management sectors.

- Strong regulatory knowledge regarding SEBI guidelines for Portfolio Managers and the ability to navigate the compliance landscape effectively.

- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment strategies to sophisticated investors and stakeholders.

- A minimum of 5 - 7 years of professional experience in the financial services industry, preferably in a leadership capacity within an asset management firm.

- A postgraduate degree in Finance, MBA, or a professional certification such as CFA is highly preferred.

- Ability to work effectively in an on-site environment in Mumbai, demonstrating the agility to manage both administrative oversight and client-facing responsibilities.
