Location: IFSC GIFT City, Gandhinagar

Fund Type: Category II AIF

Experience: Minimum 5 years in BFSI (mandatory)

Role Overview:

The Principal Officer (PO) will be responsible for ensuring full regulatory compliance of the Category II AIF in IFSC GIFT City, acting as the key compliance functionary and primary point of contact with IFSCA.

The role involves oversight of regulatory reporting, AML/KYC frameworks, governance, and internal controls across fund operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Act as the Principal Officer under IFSCA regulations for the Category II AIF.

- Ensure ongoing compliance with IFSCA (Fund Management) Regulations, 2022, AML/CFT guidelines, and other applicable laws.

- Liaise with IFSCA, custodians, auditors, fund administrators, and other regulators as required.

- Oversee investor onboarding, KYC/AML due diligence, FATCA/CRS compliance, and periodic reviews.

- Monitor and implement regulatory updates, circulars, and advisories issued by IFSCA.

- Review fund documentation including PPM, IM, LPA, investment agreements, and internal policies.

- Ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings, returns, and disclosures.

- Support internal and external audits and address audit observations.

- Establish and maintain robust internal controls, compliance frameworks, and SOPs.

- Report compliance matters, breaches, and risk issues to senior management/board.

Eligibility & Qualifications:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in BFSI, with strong exposure to compliance, legal, risk, or regulatory roles.

- Prior experience with AIFs, PMS, AMCs, fund management entities, or financial institutions preferred.

- Sound understanding of IFSCA/SEBI regulations, AML/KYC norms, and fund structures.

- Professional qualifications such as CA, CS, LLB, MBA (Finance), or equivalent preferred.

- Strong drafting, regulatory interpretation, and stakeholder management skills.

- Attention to detail and risk awareness

- Strong communication and documentation skills

Preferred (Good to Have):

- Prior exposure to IFSC GIFT City operations

- Experience working with Category II or III AIFs

- Hands-on experience coordinating with fund administrators and custodians
