About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Principal Engineer - Procurement (Buyer) with strong expertise in procurement, expediting, supplier management, fabrication processes, and international Oil & Gas / Petrochemical EPC project requirements.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of contract conditions, supplier engineering, project schedules, sub-ordering, fabrication, inspection requirements, and international supplier networks for equipment and materials used in plant facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and interpret supplier contract conditions, project schedules, supplier engineering requirements, sub-ordering, and fabrication processes.
- Coordinate with suppliers for fabrication progress, inspection requirements, and delivery timelines.
- Manage and guide the Expediting Group.
- Support and train junior team members.
- Lead, delegate tasks, and organize the team effectively.
- Identify, understand, and explain complex procurement and supplier-related issues.
- Ensure proactive follow-up with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders.
- Take responsibility for delegated tasks and make appropriate decisions within the authority level.
- Drive efficiency, safety, profitability, and continuous improvement in procurement operations.
- Maintain high ethical standards, accountability, and professional integrity.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Academic Background:
Professional Experience:
- Strong experience in Oil & Gas EPC procurement, expediting, and supplier coordination.
- Experience handling equipment and materials required for plant facilities.
- Experience in managing teams and supporting junior staff members.
Key Skills:
- Deep understanding of fabrication processes for equipment and materials required for plant facilities.
- Wide knowledge of international suppliers providing equipment and materials for Oil & Gas / EPC projects.
- Strong knowledge of supplier engineering, sub-ordering, fabrication, inspection, and delivery processes.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for daily work activities.
- High attention to detail with strong follow-up ability.
- Ability to solve complex problems and communicate them clearly to others.
