Principal - AI Consulting - IIT/NIT/BITS

Role Overview:

As Principal, you will lead end-to-end client engagements from scoping and solution architecture to delivery and measurable results. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, working directly with the founding team and senior client leadership. You will define architectures, build complex components, and guide a small team of AI scientists and associates.

Responsibilities:

- Lead multi-workstream AI engagements from scoping to production deployment

- Define solution architectures and develop complex components

- Act as senior technical counterpart to client leadership

- Direct and review engagement teams, ensuring engineering standards and production reliability

- Inform technology adoption decisions across models and tooling

Qualifications:

- 7-12 years of experience in software & ML systems, with recent hands-on generative AI work

- Proven track record of production-grade architectures and systems

- Strong coding and technical review skills

- Experience leading small engineering or consulting teams

- Ability to present and defend technical recommendations to senior business leaders

Preferred:

- Degree in CS/Engineering/Maths from a Premier Institute IIT/NIT/Equivalent

- Client-facing consulting experience

- Expertise in fine-tuning, small-language-model deployment, agentic systems

- Depth in cloud/MLOps (AWS/GCP/Azure, CI/CD, monitoring)

- Publications, conference talks, or open-source contributions
