President /SVP Site Operations (Chemical Manufacturing)
Responsible for overseeing end-to-end plant operations, P&L, and safety protocols and drive manufacturing excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvements to optimize production yield and operational profitability.
Role Profile & Responsibilities:
Plant Operations & P&L Leadership: Own the site's financial performance, establish annual operating budgets, and manage overall capacity utilization. Drive the operational strategies necessary to meet business demands and revenue targets.
Production & Continuous Improvement: Oversee production planning, scheduling, and execution. Utilize continuous improvement frameworks like Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to maximize output and minimize wastage.
Quality Control & Compliance: Guarantee that all manufactured batches meet stringent quality standards. Ensure strict adherence to ISO certifications, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and other industry-specific regulatory requirements.
EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety): Foster an absolute safety culture across the plant. Oversee hazard controls, waste management, and ensure complete compliance with local, state, and national environmental laws.
Engineering & Maintenance: Direct preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all plant equipment and utilities (eg, boilers, cooling towers, compressors) to ensure high equipment reliability. Oversee capital projects and facility expansions.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management: Collaborate with procurement and logistics departments to optimize raw material inventory, manage supply lead times, and streamline distribution.
Leadership & Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead cross-functional teams spanning Production, Maintenance, QA/QC, EHS, and HR. Drive workforce development and performance management.
Qualification And Experience:
1. BE in Chemical Engineering 20-25 years of progressively responsible experience in chemical, petrochemical, or specialty chemical manufacturing Industry.
2. Hands-on understanding of complex chemical processes (eg, distillation, hydrogenation, filtration, crystallization) and plant automation/DCS systems.
3. Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, TPM, Safety Management, or Operational Excellence preferred
4. Exceptional strategic thinking, crisis management, and stakeholder communication skills. Must be adept at working effectively alongside corporate boards, R&D teams, and on-the-floor technicians.
5. Strong expertise in chemical manufacturing operations and plant management.
6. Knowledge of process engineering and production optimization.
7. Experience in handling large-scale continuous/discrete chemical plants.
8. Strong understanding of EHS, process safety management (PSM), and statutory compliance.
9. Expertise in TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Operational Excellence.
10. Exposure to plant automation and digital manufacturing initiatives.
11. Knowledge of utilities, maintenance systems, and engineering practices.
12. Strategic leadership and decision-making.
13. Strong people management and team-building capabilities.
14. Crisis management and problem-solving skills.
15. Stakeholder and vendor management.
16. Change management and transformation leadership.
17. Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
