President / SVP / Head of Sales - General Trade
Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat (Head Office - Preferred)
Key responsibilities include
SALES AND STRATEGY PLANNING
- Design and execute national-level General Trade sales strategies in alignment with business goals.
- Define and drive annual revenue targets, beat plans, and trade schemes.
- Identify regional opportunities and develop scalable models for channel expansion.
DISTRIBUTION AND CHANNEL DEVELOPMENT:
- Strengthen and expand the distributor/dealer network across urban, semi-urban, and rural India.
- Ensure robust secondary sales through demand generation and strong field force engagement.
- Monitor distributor health: ROI, working capital, productivity, and order cycles.
SALES TEAM LEADERSHIP
- Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing field sales team of over 300 people : RBH, State Head, ZSM, TSM, TI,
- Implement clear KPIs, territory management plans, and performance-linked incentives.
- Foster a disciplined, ownership-driven sales culture.
Execution Excellence
- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly sales reporting, beat plans, and call productivity.
- Coordinate trade marketing efforts: in-shop visibility, POP, merchandising, and schemes.
- Drive rural penetration through innovative low-cost distribution models.
Collaboration & Forecasting
- Work closely with production, supply chain, and finance for accurate demand forecasting and inventory planning.
- Track competitor activity, pricing trends, and retail behaviors to remain market agile.
CANDIDATE MUST have Minimum 10+ years of FMCG Sales experience, with at least 5 years in General Trade leadership roles.
- Proven success in building and managing large GT networks across multiple regions.
- Deep understanding of traditional trade channels, retailer/dealer ecosystems, and grassroots activation.
- Experience in beverages, packaged food, or similar FMCG categories preferred.
- Fluent in regional market nuances and Tier 2/3 cities.
- Strong commercial acumen, people leadership, and execution discipline.
- This role requires regular travel across regions for market visits, distributor relationship management, and on-ground team engagement
