President (Profit Centre Head) - Polymer Trading Business

Responsible for full Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility and direct global sourcing, sales strategies, and supply chain logistics for commodities like PP, PE, PVC, and specialty polymers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic & P&L Leadership

- Full Profitability Ownership: Manage divisional budgets, pricing strategy, margin expansion, and overheads.

- Market Expansion: Define short-term and long-term trading goals, identifying new regional markets and engineering/specialty - polymer profit centers.

- Business Development: Lead key account management and secure large-scale contracts with domestic and international buyers (plastic manufacturers/converters).

2. Sourcing & Supplier Management

- Global Network Expansion: Build and nurture strategic partnerships with international and domestic petrochemical suppliers.

- Vendor Negotiations: Oversee contract negotiations, pricing structures, and favourable payment terms.

3. Market Risk & Intelligence

- Volatility Management: Monitor commodity market trends, raw material price fluctuations, and competitor activities.

- Inventory & Risk: Devise hedging or risk mitigation strategies to protect margins against global price crashes or supply chain shocks.

4. Operations & Supply Chain

- Logistics Optimization: Ensure the seamless movement of goods across ports and warehouses. Collaborate with logistics and procurement teams to streamline supply chains.

- Digital Transformation: Leverage ERP systems, CRM platforms, and data analytics to optimize inventory turnover and working capital.

5. Team Leadership

- Talent Development: Hire, mentor, and lead high-performing teams across regional sales, marketing, and procurement functions.

- Cross-functional Collaboration: Align operational teams with financial targets to foster a performance-driven culture.

Qualification And Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or specialized Polymer/Plastics Engineering or an MBA with Minimum 15+ years of executive experience in Polymer Trading Business.

2. Deep, technical, and commercial understanding of various polymer grades (eg, commodity and engineering plastics) and their end-use applications.

3. Proven track record in P&L management, high-volume trading, contract negotiation, and supply chain mastery.

4. Strong negotiation, analytical ability, strategic thinking, and the capability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

5. In-depth knowledge of the polymer industry and supply chains.

6. Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and ERP systems.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

1. Revenue growth and sales targets.

2. P&L performance.

3. Market share expansion.

4. Supplier diversification and client acquisition.

5. Risk-adjusted return on capital.
