Responsible for the overall strategic direction, P&L performance, and growth of a polymer trading business. This role involves leading sales and sourcing strategies, managing market risks, expanding supplier networks, and optimizing logistics for commodities such as PP, PE, PVC, and specialty polymers.
Core Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Define short and long-term marketing/trading goals and financial objectives, identifying new market segments and profit centers.
Profit & Loss (P&L) Management:
- Take ownership of the division's P&L, managing budgets, pricing, and profitability.
Supplier & Buyer Relationship Management:
- Strengthen partnerships with major global suppliers and key customers (plastic manufacturers/converters), negotiating large contracts and supplier terms.
Market Risk & Intelligence:
- Monitor commodity market trends, price fluctuations (PP, PE, PVC), and competitor activities to minimize price risk and optimize inventory levels.
Operational Oversight:
- Collaborate with logistics and procurement teams to streamline supply chains and ensure efficient delivery.
Team Leadership:
- Build, lead, and mentor high-performing sales, marketing, and procurement teams.
Qualification And Experience:
1. Typically 10+ years of experience in polymer trading, distribution, or sales, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
2. Deep understanding of polymer markets, grades, applications, and regional market trends.
3. Strong negotiation, analytical ability, strategic thinking, and the capability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

1. Revenue growth and sales targets.
2. P&L performance.
3. Market share expansion.
4. Supplier diversification and client acquisition.
