President Engineering Plastic Polymer Trading (15-25 yrs)
You will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, P&L performance, and exponential growth of the polymer trading business. This role involves leading global sales and sourcing strategies, managing high-volume market risks, expanding supplier networks, and optimizing logistics for specialized and engineering plastics.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Financial Leadership:
- Define and execute business strategies to drive growth, taking full ownership of P&L, budgeting, and profitability.
- Provide sales forecasts, market insights, and performance reports to management.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events and networking forums to build brand presence.
Relationship & Risk Management:
- Build strategic partnerships with global suppliers and key customers, negotiating contracts while managing market risk and inventory levels.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with clients and suppliers to ensure cost-effective deals.
Operations & Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and build high-performing teams while ensuring efficient logistics and procurement operations.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand the company's presence in polymer trading.
Business Development:
- Proactively identify new market opportunities and expand the client base to drive revenue.
- Meet and exceed sales targets, demonstrating a strong ability to drive revenue growth and achieve business objectives.
- Drive new business development while maintaining and growing existing client relationships.
Market Analysis & Operations:
- Monitors commodity trends (PP, PE, PVC), pricing fluctuations and competitor activities to optimize sales strategies and to manage risk and oversees logistical efficiency.
Team Management:
- Leads and develops sales, marketing, and procurement teams.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including finance and logistics, to streamline sales operations.
Qualification And Experience:
1. Engineer with 10-20+ years in polymer trading or distribution, with proven executive leadership.
2. Strong knowledge of engineering/commodity polymers and market dynamics.
3. Strong negotiation, analytical ability, strategic thinking, and the capability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
4. In-depth knowledge of the polymer industry and supply chains.
5. Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and ERP systems.
