Role Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Product Manager - Bioinformatics to lead the positioning and market development of our bioinformatics platforms and solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in bioinformatics, excellent communication skills, and a keen understanding of industry and academic trends.
This role bridges science and strategy, working closely with commercial teams, academic collaborators, and technology partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management: Drive product positioning, market strategy, and lifecycle planning for the bioinformatics portfolio including analysis software, pipelines, and AI/ML-enabled interpretation tools.
- Technical Enablement: Work with sales team, internal application scientists and external partners to support bioinformatics needs related to genomics (NGS), proteomics, single-cell, spatial, and multiomics solutions.
- Market Development & Go-To-Market: Identify emerging trends in bioinformatics applications across research and clinical domains; support go-to-market planning including pricing, bundling, and technical communication.
- Customer Engagement & Support: Engage with academic and industry clients to understand needs, resolve challenges, and ensure successful deployment of informatics solutions.
- Training & Thought Leadership: Conduct product trainings, webinars, and workshops; represent the company at scientific conferences and technology forums to build visibility and connect with KOLs.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, application support, marketing, and international principal partners to drive market adoption and feedback-driven development.
Prerequisites:
- Education: Master's or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or related field.
- Experience: 3-4 years of experience in bioinformatics roles, preferably with exposure to NGS data analysis, multiomics pipelines, and product/solution management.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel up to 50% for client interactions, field support, and events.
- Network: Strong academic and industry connections in the bioinformatics and genomics ecosystem will be an added advantage.
- Tools & Tech: Familiarity with tools such as Linux, R, Python, cloud platforms, and popular pipelines (e., GATK, DeepVariant, BWA-MEM, Annovar, Ensembl, ClinVar, Cosmic, Cell Ranger, STAR, Seurat or similar) preferred.
