Power Mech Projects - Head - Operation & Maintenance - Coal Handling Plant

Designation : Head CHP (O&M)

SCOPE:

- The Head Coal Handling Plant will be responsible for complete Operation & Maintenance activies of the CHP. Will be responsible for carrying out routine, preventive and corrective execution of all mechanical and maintenance activities, and its interface with the operation department of the facility.

- In addition, this position is responsible for the identification and control of all related spare parts, replacement parts and consumables so as to maximize availability, reliability and power production. The Head (CHP) will also supervise mainte- nance activities by plant and contractor personnel.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:

- Responsible for operating & maintaining Coal Handling Plant with high efficiency and reliability in all respect.

- Ensure proper, efficient and safe maintenance of the facility equipment by establishing, implementing, and maintaining maintenance procedures utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Basic SAP knowledge is desired.

- Ensure sustainability of timely coal unloanding and feeding into bunkers.

- Minimising APC by optimising utilisation of all CHP equipments.

- Coordinate contractor support required for equipment repair or maintenance including; work scope, negotiations, contract development, and implementation.

- Review and monitor manpower deployment including contract labour, co-ordinate with different department for smooth running of plant.

- Handle different emergencies in a Coal handling plant.

- Responsibile of monitoring and supervising the equipments on regular basis to achieve high availability.

- Responsible for maintaining high standards in CHP housekeeping and create safe working environment.

- Monitoing of stockyard (FIFO) & Minimise Coal Quality & Quantity loss. Implement best practices in operation.

- Responsible to ensure compliance with the environmental compliance program and that all reasonable precautions to prevent incidents of non-compliance.

- Supervise procurement and maintain spare parts and materials with an automated inventory control system to maintain plant operations.

- Responsible for managing day to day operations of MGR. Co-ordination with Coal Company and railways to ensure timely availability of right quality & quantity of Coal.

- Responsible for Operation and Maintenance of Signalling & Telecom.

- Supervise the sub-contractor manpower.

- Planning resources, mobilizing manpower and allocating job to engineers for execution of routine maintenance

activities - Preventive , Corrective & Breakdown maintenance of equipment .

- Implementation of Asset Optimization framework ,Quality frame work & VSAP frame work)

- Spare cost optimization by vendor development and reverse engineering of spares.

- Analysing equipment down time based on reliability runs ( MTTR &MTBF) & process variation.

- Leading the reliability Based Maintenance team for equipment troubleshooting using CBM,PFMEA, RCA& CAPA ensuring reliable operation of equipment.

Special Skill:

- Must have the experience of leading CHP team independently in a similar setup in a large size power plant.

- Must have the knowledge of coal quality, GCV, unloading of coal, fire protection of coal stocks.

- Must have worked in similar capacity plant or should have experience of not less than 500 MW. Preferably should have worked in a super critical plant of 660 MW.

- Must be committed to working to the highest possible standards within a highly regulated EHS environment.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.

- Must be Diploma/BE/BTech in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 15 to 20 yrs of experience in Coal Handling Plant.
