
Role Overview:
The Portfolio Leader is a high-impact executive position responsible for leading a strategic portfolio of enterprise-scale digital, cloud, and data transformation programs. You will own the complete ecosystem of your portfoliospanning high-growth commercial strategy (Account Mining & Second Delivery), massive financial accountability (Full P&L Ownership), and end-to-end team operations (People Supply Chain).
While you are a seasoned business and delivery executive, you possess deep technical fluency in cloud migrations, data governance, and analytics, allowing you to confidently guide clients through modernizing their legacy infrastructures into modern cloud ecosystems.
1. Financial Leadership & P&L Ownership:
- Portfolio P&L Management: Own the end-to-end financial health, budgeting, revenue forecasting, and profitability tracking for a multi-million dollar account portfolio.
- Margin Optimization: Strategically manipulate core business leverssuch as resource pyramid optimization, utilization rates, and delivery tooling coststo maximize project and account margins.
- Cost Control: Monitor and optimize operational costs, ensuring delivery is executed efficiently without compromising on quality or SLA compliance.
2. Account Mining & Commercial Growth:
- Organic Account Mining: Partner with sales and account teams to identify, pitch, and capture new expansion opportunities within your existing client footprint.
- Second Delivery Excellence: Secure repeat business and long-term client retention by consistently executing flawless initial program deliveries, positioning our organization as a trusted strategic partner.
- NPS-Driven Value: Tie delivery success metrics directly to the client's business outcomes, tracking and improving their customer Net Promoter Score (NPS) through targeted data and product analytics solutions.
3. People Supply Chain & Operational Scale:
- Supply Chain Management: Drive capacity planning, resource forecasting, and bench management to ensure project pipeline demands seamlessly align with talent availability.
- Hiring & Fitment: Oversee the talent acquisition pipeline for your portfolio, ensuring rigorous standard assessment for technical skill and cultural fitment.
- Retention & Attrition Control: Actively monitor team morale and burn-out, designing clear career paths and implementing aggressive retention strategies to minimize attrition.
- Promotions & Performance: Lead annual appraisal and promotion cycles, recognizing high-potential engineering and management talent to build a high-performance delivery culture.
4. Technical Governance & Transformation Oversight:
- Migration Program Oversight: Direct complex, large-scale, zero-downtime Data Migration & Modernization programs from legacy on-premise clouds to public cloud infrastructures (GCP, Azure, or AWS).
- Data Governance & Compliance: Ensure all delivered solutions incorporate enterprise-grade data management architectures, data governance suites (e.g., Collibra, Alation), and strict security frameworks.
- Modern Analytics Enablement: Champion the rollout of enterprise Cloud BI Platforms (such as BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, Redshift) to enable robust customer feedback loops and text/sentiment analytics.
Technical & Professional Competencies:
Primary Competencies (Must-Have):
- P&L & Financial Acumen: Extensive experience managing millions in tech-delivery revenue, with a sharp understanding of margins, overhead costs, and commercial pricing models.
- People Supply Chain Mastery: Deep experience running large, multi-disciplinary engineering and consulting teams, managing hiring metrics, attrition, and complex talent resource allocation.
- Cloud & Data Fluency: Strong conceptual and strategic grasp of public cloud data ecosystems (GCP, Azure, or AWS) and migration methodologies, allowing you to converse effortlessly with enterprise CTOs and architects.
- Advanced Analytics Strategy: Familiarity with leveraging data structures to power product analytics, sentiment analysis, and customer feedback loops.
Good-to-Have Competencies:
- Multi-Cloud Implementation Experience: Experience overseeing portfolios that scale across hybrid or multi-cloud infrastructures.
- Agile Portfolio Management: Certifications like SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), PMP, or PgMP.
- Executive Presence: Exceptional negotiation skills tailored for C-suite alignment, procurement hurdles, and vendor steering committees.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business; MBA or equivalent advanced business degree highly preferred.
- 16+ years of professional experience in IT delivery, management consulting, or Global Systems Integration (GSI).
- 5+ years in a portfolio leadership, account delivery director, or P&L-owning executive role.
