The individual in this role is responsible for overseeing the credit underwriting and risk assessment process for unsecured business loans within a designated geographical zone. They will manage a team of Regional /Area Credit Managers and work closely with Credit / Business team and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective credit decisions while maintaining a strong credit quality. Key Responsibilities: - Credit Underwriting: Lead the credit underwriting process for unsecured business loans, ensuring thorough evaluation of credit applications, financial statements, credit scores, and other relevant data to determine creditworthiness and risk exposure. - Risk Assessment: Analyze and assess the credit risk of prospective borrowers based on the credit policies and guidelines set by the organization. Develop risk mitigation strategies and recommend appropriate credit limits and loan structures. - Team Management: Supervise and mentor credit team by providing guidance and support in the execution of their responsibilities, including training, performance evaluations, and professional development. - Portfolio Management: Monitor the overall performance and health of the unsecured business loan portfolio within the assigned zone, identify trends, and proactively address any potential areas of concern. - Credit Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to the organization's credit policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements while continuously reviewing and refining credit policies based on changing market conditions. - Collaboration: Collaborate with sales teams, branch managers, relationship managers, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient loan origination process while maintaining strong relationships with customers. - Credit Decision Approval: Review and approve credit decisions that require higher-level authorization, balancing risk exposure and business objectives. - Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports and presentations on key credit metrics for senior management and relevant stakeholders like credit portfolio performance, delinquency rates etc. - Credit Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance the credit assessment process, streamline workflows, and implement best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy. - Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies related to credit underwriting and loan origination.
