PolyCycl | Project Management Lead / Manager

Role Overview:

The Project Management Lead / Manager will lead the end-to-end execution of industrial and engineering projects, from pre-project planning and engineering through procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up. The role requires strong mechanical engineering expertise, project execution discipline, vendor and contractor management, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast-moving R&D and industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage multiple projects from concept through commissioning and start-up.

- Develop project plans covering scope, timelines, budgets, resources, milestones and deliverables.

- Monitor project progress, KPIs, schedules and costs, and take corrective actions to maintain project targets.

- Manage client relationships, project communication, meetings, reporting and stakeholder coordination.

- Support and review pre-project planning, FEED, basic engineering and detailed engineering activities.

- Review and validate mechanical designs, equipment sizing and selection, engineering deliverables and technical approvals.

- Contribute to equipment engineering, mechanical design optimization and fabrication management.

- Drive procurement and sourcing activities, including vendor development, engagement, negotiation and scope finalization.

- Finalize and manage contractors for project construction and execution.

- Lead design reviews, HAZOPs, technical discussions and approval processes.

- Coordinate with statutory bodies for project approvals and clearances and support timely closure of requirements.

- Review, improve and maintain project protocols, technical documents and technology-related documentation.

- Prepare MIS reports and present project status, risks, progress and key decisions to senior management.

Required Technical & Professional Skills:

- Project Management: End-to-end project planning and execution; scope, schedule, budget, resource planning, KPI tracking and risk management.

- Mechanical Engineering: Strong understanding of mechanical design, equipment engineering, equipment sizing/selection, fabrication and applicable codes/standards.

- Engineering & Project Lifecycle: Experience across FEED, basic and detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up.

- Vendor & Contractor Management: Vendor development, technical/commercial engagement, negotiation, procurement coordination and contractor finalization.

- Process Safety & Technical Reviews: Experience with HAZOPs, technical discussions, design reviews, approvals and process safety management.

- Documentation & Reporting: Strong technical documentation, MIS reporting, project protocols and senior-management presentations.

- Project Execution Tools: Exposure to Jira, Zoho Projects, MS Project or equivalent project execution tools; familiarity with AVEVA E3D, Intergraph SmartPlant 3D or similar engineering platforms.

- Leadership: Ability to lead, motivate and guide small multidisciplinary teams with clear goals, accountability and execution focus.

- Strategic Thinking: Ability to assess risks, analyze data, make sound decisions and align project execution with broader business objectives.

Candidate Profile:

- 15-25 years of relevant experience in project management and industrial/engineering project execution.

- B.Tech / BE / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

- Strong preference for candidates from Oil & Gas, Petrochemical & Polymers, Chemicals or Industrial Manufacturing environments.

- Demonstrated experience taking projects from planning and engineering through procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up.

- Strong ownership, execution orientation, problem-solving ability and stakeholder-management skills.
