Our vision is to create a scalable, reliable, and data-driven battery ecosystem-from sourcing and distribution to installation, after-sales service, and lifecycle management till recycle. This role is for someone who has built operations in chaos, scaled systems from scratch,and understands how to balance speed, cost, quality, and customer experience in a fast-growing startup.
Role Overview:
The General Manager - Operations will own end-to-end operational execution across sales support, supply chain, warehousing, distribution, service operations, and partner/vendor management.
You will work directly with the founders and leadership team to:
- Design and scale operations from early growth to expansion
- Build strong SOPs, teams, and data systems
- Drive cost efficiency without compromising service quality
- Act as the backbone of the company's execution engine
- This is a hands-on leadership role, not a desk-only position.
- Key Responsibilities-
1. Operations Strategy & Execution:
- Build and execute the overall operations strategy aligned with company growth
- and revenue targets
- Translate business goals into scalable operational plans, metrics, and execution
- roadmaps
- Drive expansion across geographies while maintaining operational control and efficiency
2. Supply Chain, Distribution & Logistics:
- Own battery sourcing, warehousing, inventory planning, and last-mile
- distribution
- Optimize cold-chain / sensitive logistics (where applicable)
- Reduce lead times, shrinkage, damages, and operational losses
- Build relationships with logistics partners and third-party service providers
3. SOPs, Process Design & Cost Optimization:
- Design, document, and implement SOPs across operations, service, and partner management
- Continuously identify cost leakages and lead cost-reduction initiatives
- Introduce process automation and data-backed decision-making
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
4. Service Operations & Customer Experience:
- Build and scale post-sales service, warranty, and replacement operations
- Ensure high customer satisfaction, fast resolution TATs, and minimal escalations
- Create service metrics, dashboards, and feedback loops
- Collaborate with sales and product teams to improve offerings based on service insights
5. Team Building & Leadership:
- Hire, train, and manage operations, warehouse, and service teams
- Build a culture of ownership, speed, and accountability
- Set KPIs, review performance, and coach team members for scale
- Act as a strong people leader in a fast-paced startup environment
6. Data, Analytics & Technology:
- Use advanced Excel, MySQL, and backend data structures to track performance
- Build dashboards for inventory, cost, service quality, and operational efficiency
- Work closely with tech/product teams to define system requirements
- Leverage data to drive forecasting, planning, and continuous improvement
7. Stakeholder & Partner Management:
Manage relationships with:
- OEM's and battery manufacturers
- Vendors and logistics partners
- Financial institutions and leasing partners
- Ensure smooth coordination across internal and external stakeholders
- Negotiate contracts, SLAs, and pricing structures
8. Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Sales, Finance, Product, and Leadership
- Support sales planning with operational feasibility and execution readiness
- Bring operational insights into pricing, go-to-market, and expansion strategies
- Prior exposure to sales operations or sales management is a strong plus
Education Qualification:
- B.Tech (Mechanical / ECE) from IIT, NIT, BITS, VIT Chennai or equivalent
- MBA preferred (especially for candidates with early technical careers and experiences)
Experience & Background:
- Experience in operation-heavy startups (Blinkit, Zepto, logistics, cold chain
- logistics, EV/battery ecosystem preferred)
- Hands-on experience scaling operations from idea to Series A/B
- Strong exposure to product-led or platform-based businesses
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-changing environment

- Deep understanding of operations, supply chain, service, and startup scaling
- High ownership mindset with execution-first thinking
- Excellent stakeholder and vendor management skills
- Comfortable with frequent travel between Bangalore and Kolkata
