
Position Overview:
The Plant HR Head will be the strategic HR leader for our upcoming greenfield car manufacturing plant in Aurangabad. This role is responsible for building the HR function from the ground up, establishing strong people practices, and creating a high-performance, engaged workforce. The role will involve strategic HR planning, workforce ramp-up, culture building, and robust IR/ER management to ensure smooth plant commissioning and sustained operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic HR Leadership & Planning:
- Define and execute a people strategy that aligns with the business plan and long-term goals of the plant.
- Act as a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, influencing strategic decisions with data-driven HR insights.
- Develop HR roadmaps covering talent acquisition, workforce planning, capability building, and retention strategies.
2. Workforce Planning & Talent Acquisition:
- Design a comprehensive manpower plan for plant start-up and phased scale-up.
- Drive end-to-end recruitment, including lateral, campus, and contract workforce hiring.
- Establish a strong employer brand in the Aurangabad region to attract the best talent.
- Ensure timely onboarding, induction, and ramp-up in line with project timelines.
3. Organization Design & Development:
- Define organization structure, job roles, and competency frameworks to support business requirements.
- Build robust career progression paths and succession planning pipelines for critical roles.
- Partner with business leaders to continuously assess and upgrade workforce skills.
4. Industrial Relations & Statutory Compliance:
- Build and maintain harmonious employee relations through proactive engagement with workmen, unions, and local authorities.
- Ensure 100% compliance with labor laws, factory acts, and statutory requirements.
- Establish effective grievance redressal mechanisms and lead collective bargaining negotiations where required.
- Represent the company in external forums, inspections, and legal matters as necessary.
5. Learning, Training & Development:
- Establish a training infrastructure/academy for shop-floor skill building and technical training.
- Develop leadership and behavioral training programs for supervisors and managers.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, Kaizen, and innovation across the plant.
6. Performance Management & Employee Engagement:
- Implement a KPI-driven Performance Management System to link individual goals with plant performance.
- Introduce Recognition & Reward programs to encourage high performance and collaboration.
- Conduct regular employee engagement surveys and drive action plans to improve satisfaction scores.
7. Culture Building & Change Management:
- Champion a safety-first, quality-driven, and inclusive workplace culture.
- Lead change management initiatives during plant set-up, start-up, and stabilization.
- Build an environment of trust, transparency, and employee empowerment.
8. HR Operations & Systems:
- Set up HR processes, policies, and HRIS systems to ensure seamless operations.
- Oversee payroll, time office, workforce analytics, and HR dashboards.
- Monitor HR budgets, optimize manpower cost, and drive productivity improvements.
