Plant Head - Steel Industry

Role Summary

The Plant Head is responsible for leading the entire plant's operations - technical, administrative, and safety. The person ensures smooth production, cost efficiency, high quality, and safety compliance while leading a large team and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

- Plan and implement long-term strategies to improve plant performance, productivity, and profitability.

Technical Operations

- Supervise production, equipment maintenance, and quality control; ensure everything meets safety and environmental standards.

Plant Administration

- Oversee HR, finance, procurement, and logistics at the plant; monitor budgets and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Safety Management

- Build and maintain a strong safety culture; ensure all rules, training, and audits are followed.

Team Leadership

- Lead and motivate teams across departments; promote teamwork and professional growth.

Stakeholder Management

- Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, authorities, and the local community.

Continuous Improvement

- Identify and implement ways to make operations more efficient and cost-effective using best practices and lean principles.

Required Skills & Qualities

Experience & Qualification

- Experience: 15+ years overall; at least 10+ years in senior management in the steel industry

- Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Metallurgical Engineering
