Job Title: Plant Head - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
Location: Chennai
Reporting To: Director - Plant
Team Size: 2 Direct Reportees; ~350 Indirect Workforce
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Head to lead operations for a newly established pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The role will be responsible for end-to-end plant operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and scalable growth aligned with global quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage overall plant operations including Production, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and EHS.
- Set up and stabilize operations for the new manufacturing facility, ensuring timely commissioning and smooth scale-up.
- Ensure strict adherence to EU regulatory guidelines, GMP standards (Good Manufacturing Practices) , and other global compliance requirements.
- Drive manufacturing excellence across IV Fluids (Intravenous), OSD (Oral Solid Dosage) formulations and Injections (amp/vial)
- Establish robust quality systems to ensure audit readiness for international regulatory bodies.
- Optimize plant performance by improving productivity, reducing costs, and enhancing operational efficiencies.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial for seamless execution.
- Oversee budgeting, cost control, and capital expenditure planning.
- Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards across the facility.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: 12-15+ years in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with significant exposure to plant leadership roles.
- Mandatory experience in IV Fluids (Intravenous) and OSD (Oral Solid Dosage) manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of EU regulations, GMP compliance, and exposure to international audits.
- Experience using Toflon & Trucking machines is an added advantage
- Proven track record in setting up or managing large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing plants.
- Experience in handling large teams (300+ workforce preferred).
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
