Job Title: Plant Head

Location: Pune

Reporting To: India Operations Head

Role Overview

The Plant Head will be responsible for overall plant operations, ensuring efficient production, quality compliance, cost control, and team leadership in a mono cartons and corrugation packaging environment. The role requires strong operational expertise, leadership capabilities, and a focus on continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations Management

- Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations (mono cartons, corrugation, printing, finishing, Liquid Packaging).

- Ensure production targets (volume, quality, timelines) are consistently met

- Drive capacity utilization and operational efficiency

2. Production Planning & Control

- Implement effective production planning aligned with business demand

- Optimize resource allocation (manpower, machines, materials)

- Minimize downtime and ensure smooth workflow

3. Quality & Compliance

- Ensure adherence to quality standards (ISO, GMP, customer-specific requirements)

- Drive zero-defect culture and continuous quality improvement

- Maintain compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations

4. Cost & Budget Management

- Manage plant budgets and control manufacturing costs

- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality

- Monitor KPIs like wastage, efficiency, and productivity

5. Team Leadership & Development

- Lead a team of 5-6 direct reports (production, quality, maintenance, etc.)

- Build a high-performance culture with strong accountability

- Coach and develop second-line leadership

6. Maintenance & Engineering

- Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance systems are robust

- Improve machine uptime and reliability

- Drive automation and technology upgrades

7. Supply Chain Coordination

- Work closely with procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams

- Ensure timely availability of raw materials and dispatch of finished goods

8. Continuous Improvement

- Implement Lean, Six Sigma, TPM initiatives

- Drive productivity improvements and process optimization

- Encourage innovation in packaging processes

Key Requirements

- Experience: 15+ years in packaging /printing industry (mono cartons, corrugation preferred)

- Education: B.E/B.Tech (Mechanical / Printing / Packaging) or equivalent

- Proven experience in plant/operations leadership role

- Strong knowledge of printing technologies, packaging processes, and plant management

- Experience handling large teams and multi-functional departments
