Job Title: Plant Head (Li-ion Battery Pack Assembly)

Location: Bidadi, Bangalore - Karnataka

Position Overview:

The Plant Head will be responsible for establishing and leading a state-of-the-art 10 GWh lithium-ion battery pack assembly facility, driving operational excellence, ensuring safety, and delivering high-quality output aligned with business objectives.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role involving end-to-end ownership of plant setup, commissioning, production operations, workforce development, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Setup & Commissioning:

- Lead the setup of the greenfield Li-ion battery pack assembly facility from concept to full-scale production.

- Define plant layout, equipment selection, installation, automation requirements, and production workflow design.

- Ensure adherence to project timelines, cost objectives, compliance, and quality standards.

- Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, EHS, Quality, and Technology teams for seamless commissioning.

2. Manufacturing Operations - 10 GWh Output:

- Oversee full-scale production operations delivering MWh and GWh level containerized battery energy storage solutions.

- Define and manage KPIs for productivity, yield, safety, delivery, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

- Ensure strict compliance with global standards for battery performance, traceability, and EV/BESS industry norms.

- Drive digital manufacturing implementation including MES, automation, and data-driven decision-making.

3. Leadership & People Management:

- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing workforce including experienced senior engineers, supervisors, and technicians.

- Establish a strong culture of safety, operational discipline, continuous improvement, and accountability.

- Enable talent development and succession planning to support rapid business scale-up.

4. Supply Chain & Inventory Management:

- Work closely with SCM to ensure availability of critical components including cells, modules, BMS, enclosures, and raw materials.

- Optimize inventory planning, vendor performance, and logistics efficiency for uninterrupted operations.

5. Quality, Safety & Regulatory Compliance:

- Implement world-class Quality Management Systems (ISO/TS standards).

- Ensure best-in-class EHS practices tailored to Li-ion battery handling, storage, and manufacturing.

- Ensure plant operations comply with national and international regulatory requirements.

6. Cost & Performance Optimization:

- Drive operational excellence initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement projects.

- Monitor plant budget, cost drivers, and ensure profitability and productivity targets are met.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

- B. Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Industrial Engineering or related discipline.

- Direct involvement in large-scale manufacturing setup and ramp-up in EV/BESS sectors.

- Strong expertise in MWh and GWh level production, containerized BESS solutions, and advanced automation systems.

- Proven capacity to lead large teams and collaborate across global supply chain and technology environments.
