Position : Plant Head

Location - Hyderabad

Industry : Forging / Heavy Engineering / Turbine Components

Role Overview:

- The Plant Head will be responsible for overall operations of the forging unit, specifically managing high-tonnage hammer press operations (18 MT and above) for manufacturing critical components such as turbine blades.

- The role involves end-to-end responsibility for production, quality, maintenance, safety, and team management.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Operations:

- Oversee complete plant operations including forging, heat treatment, machining, and finishing

- Ensure smooth functioning of 18 MT hammer press and associated equipment

- Drive production planning and execution as per project timelines Forging & Technical Expertise

- Manage heavy forging processes for turbine components

- Ensure correct process parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time)

- Handle die management, material flow, and forging quality

Production & Efficiency:

- Monitor plant KPIs (OEE, productivity, rejection rates)

- Optimize production output and reduce downtime

- Implement lean manufacturing practices

Quality Control:

- Ensure adherence to strict quality standards (aerospace/power grade)

- Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections (NDT, UT, RT, DPI)

- Minimize defects and ensure zero rework

Maintenance:

Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of:

- Hammer press

- Furnaces

- Cranes & utilities

- Ensure minimum machine downtime

Team Management:

- Lead a team of engineers, supervisors, operators, and technicians

- Ensure proper manpower planning and shift management

- Train teams on safety and operational best practices

Safety & Compliance:

- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards in high-risk forging operations

- Implement EHS practices and statutory compliance

Key Requirements:

Qualification:

- B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production Engineering

Experience:

- 12-20+ years in forging / heavy engineering industry

Hands-on experience with:

- High tonnage hammer press (10T-18T+) or hydraulic press

- Turbine / aerospace / heavy component manufacturing

Technical Skills:

Deep knowledge of:

- Forging processes (open die / closed die)

- Heat treatment cycles

- Material behavior (alloys, superalloys)

- Exposure to turbine components is highly preferred

Leadership Skills:

- Strong plant management and decision-making ability

- Experience in handling large teams and multiple departments

Preferred Profile:

- Experience in turbine blade / aerospace component manufacturing

- Exposure to companies like forging majors / heavy engineering firms

- Strong focus on quality, safety, and process optimization
